any items that you used to eat/love that can no longer be had in its original form counts here.
like Picnic-n-chicken 'chick-itos'. chicken rolled tacos. my first exposure to rolled tacos of anykind. looking back, they kinda sucked compared to whats commonly available now, but back then they were da bomb |
Space food stix - have a box of em at home. The new version. They come in smaller pieces than the original stix but they taste about the same.
A&W drive up. Teen burger please. When I was a kid it was my dream job to work at A&W. Lofty expectations I know. Arctic Circle fry sauce - our only other fast food in town. McDonalds cherry pie - my absolute favorite but I'm sure I've still got burn marks from eating them before they cooled down. Jack in the Box pizza pockets. Egg Roll Fantasy - it was on Saratoga/Sunnyvale road in Cupertino. They had every kind of filling - pizza, cheeseburger, gosh they were good. Hippo Kiss from the Hippo resturant in San Francisco. Doggie Diner |
We have an old fashioned A & W in the tiny town next door. The boy and I drove up there last week. We sat in the car and had frosty mugs of root beer, it was wonderful. The one in our town sucks and is a combination KFC and A &W.

Bugles, yes, NA, I loved those too.
Hey, can you still get Bosco chocolate syrup? I loved that. |

Ok, now I need to go to Newport and have Arctic Circle. The last time we went I bought two bottles of fry sauce. I've tried to make my own or eat the junk from BK but it's just not the same!

Ohh, Jack in the Box fried tacos. They were gross and yet so good! I know I ate at Doggie Diner in SF, I am sure I did, but danged if I can remember anything but the huge dachshound head. |

I still eat those nasty but somehow really good tacos from Jacks'. Two for a buck, helps stave off the need for a bunch of their other crap. I haven't had a 'Monster Taco' in ages, though.
Do they still make those scrambled egg pockets? We used to buy them and then I figured to just make them at home. The kids loved them, they were easy, I could do it. :D |

shipping and handling $12.00 I'm nostalgic, but not that curious! Nobody apparently sells in N. California. I guess I will stick with Trader Joe's Midnight Moo when the mood strikes. |
