Happy Christmas everybody! I had a good day. We shared the gifting, though it was not particularly dramatic, and we went to a movie. I like this set of relatives, and we had some fun.

wow I really cleaned up this year!
- $20 gift certificate to Best Buy - Shoes - Mickey Shirt - Friends book (99 cent store buy) - Batman book (99 cent store buy) - $20 to Pizza Kitchen - $30 to Target. Hmmmm |
B and I had a lovely Christmas this year. Jammies, games and napping all day!

Drove to San Diego and back today. Got into a debate with the entire family on politics (the lone conservative in a group full of liberals). MIL is one who believes you are an idiot if you don't believe with her, so naturally, we had some issues. But otherwise a fun day!

I'm done with work. I'm almost done with my sewing project. I just finished eating delicious rack of lamb with cous cous and steamed veggies and all is right with the world. Thurston, however, is VERY upset that he couldn't get his chomps around one of those lamb bones.
I was driving around this evening and got to see such a wonderful display of lights in the various neighborhoods I visited......AND I saw a baby skunk. This is always my favorite time of the Holidays - the mad rush is almost over and there is a bit of time to reflect and enjoy....before NYE comes careening around the corner. Merry Christmas! |
I went to a dinner party at some friend's last night. He happens to be the executive chef at the zoo - you don't turn down an invitation like that.
Erin spent the night with me, and we had our Christmas this morning. Her mom picked her up just after noon to go to Grandma Beth's for family Christmas up there. That's when I start cooking. Every Boxing Day since Linda and I split I've had her family over for brunch. It's become a required part of Christmas. Egg cassarole, O'brian potatoes, yam and fruit gratin, apple spice bread and fruit pizza. It's been a good day. ron |
Merry Christmas, Y'all!
Hope everyone had a great day! :) ![]() What you talkin' 'bout, Everybody! |
I took the teen and twins to OC and spent the day with my folks and my brother.
We exchanged gifts, played around outside a little, and the teen and I even copped a nap on my old bunk bed while the twins were distracted by a movie. We had Chinese buffet dinner and got thoroughly stickered up by one of the 6 year olds' Dora stickers. While one of the strangest and most sullen Christmases I can recall (my first wife's funeral is scheduled for this Friday), it was great to be together and goof around. |
So I'm curious, what were all our non-christian friends up to on Christmas day? Did you really go for a movie and Chinese food? Did anyone get a bite at the zoo?

Scaeagles, I can relate. We got on the topic of funding being cut for music in schools, and my father began ranting about how high school bands are playing mariachi music now, signifying the end of American culture. Thankfully it was about time for us to leave, and we did so, abruptly. Other than that it was nice seeing everyone and stuffing ourselves with good food. |
