Ah, but the problem is, I need to set aside one of those Saturdays, or they fill up with other various goodies. It's like my mom says, "come over any time", but if I don't force her to plan it, it won't happen.

Perhaps once I stop working Saturdays (soon!) this will work out better.

Well, is there a film schedule?

innerSpaceman 01-15-2008 12:48 AM

What's the date this Saturday? Because there's a dreaded Saturday coming up real quick where I've been invited to two parties I really want to go to, in opposite parts of the LA Metro Area World. Ugh, I havent' responded to either one ... and i'm going to have to make a Sophie's choice real soon. But if the next case de mp movie is on Jan 26, I am right out.

(Otherwise, totally IN)

(in per usual)

This weekend's movie has been set!

It will be the 1941 musical-comedy Hellzapoppin'. Mostly famous today for its incredible swing dance number, it's also notable for being an early deconstructionist film. Fascinating and funny, too!

There's also a possibility that's we'll be having a late-night screening of Lindsay Anderson's if... . I plan to show O Lucky Man! in the near future, so I want to give everyone the opportunity to see the first movie in the Mick Travis trilogy (though you don't really need to to appreciate OLM).

(and while Snowflake's dates are pretty spot-on, there's going to have to be a little shuffling - I'll use this thread for updates)

So the final plans:

6pm : Gather at our place (we'll be at Monkeyhouse before that)
7pm : Hellzapoppin'
9:30 : if... (if anyone is interested)

As always, PM me or give me a call if you need directions...

Hmmm, I recall seeing both in the theaters and not really liking them, but I have no recollection except for some sheephead/baby vision of some sort. I wonder if I would appreciate them more today - or just complain more about their length

mousepod 01-17-2008 10:20 PM

Trust me... you'd appreciate 'em.

What about the sheep?
