Oh, so in keeping with the thread, I had a couple interesting phone calls (within an hour of each other) today.
The first was the IRS calling me for an interview (w00t!)
The second was my dad. He didn't start chemo today. He called his doctor because he felt like one of the lymph nodes seemed smaller than it was before. Cancerous lymph nodes do not shrink. The doctor had him come in and he took a look. Basically, they can't do another pet scan for a month, but since dad's original cancer had already metasticized, there's no harm in holding off a month on his treatment and taking a second look at those nodes on the off chance that it's some kind of infection making them look cancerous. They don't want to waste a round of chemo, because apparently you get only three(?) I don't know what that's about, either it damages the body too much or is no longer effective, not sure.
But anyway, there's a slight chance it's not cancer, we'll find out in a month.
