I think we can do a dinner and a breakfast, so that would cover the remaining meal.

Wow.

No, that's incorrect Kevy. Possessive of a family name comes after the "s," not before.

I was assuming (as noted in my post) that the family name was "Hollmer" (no "s" at the end). The possessive of this family (as a collective: no plural) would be Hollmer's.

If the family name was indeed "Hollmers" the possessive of the name could go either way: Hollmers' or Hollmers's (although I prefer the former). We had a discussion on this issue in a previous thread.

Sorry, but 4 teams to cover 8 group meals is not going to work.

Why not - I think the math is pretty simple: 8 / 4 = 2. Each team would be responsible for two meals.

But it is kind of a moot point: there are seven meals listed in the Wiki (Thursday night is not listed). All meals are covered (although Monday morning does not have a team listed as covering it - it is just listed as Mish Mash).

With the natural change of things, we are at four teams. As far as I am concerned, Team Where the Rum Has Gone is not a part of the picture any more. Team Discovery Channel is made up of innerSpaceman, Gemini Cricket, Morrigoon, Bornieo. Since this last team was "assembled" mainly through attrition, if there is an issue with this, then let's discuss. Since this team is covering two meals, if you would like assistance with this (financially), then let everyone know (I had previously offered to cover the cost of groceries). All that I would ask is to take responsibility for making sure the meal is covered (that is not an edict - just my request).

The only remaining question I see unanswered is Thursday night dinner: do we want to plan for this as a group activity? MOST people will be there for this meal, but since it is setup day, I doubt anyone will want to prep anything. Should we make this a do-it-yourself meal? Or does someone want to volunteer to cover this? (Again: I am willing to contribute $/groceries if people are worried about such).

DISNEYPHILE: Our team is covering Saturday night dinner (I think you and Susan already discussed this, but I am not certain). Also, I am covering Sunday breakfast (I don't mind doing it solo: I am getting good at it).

Actually, the extended Team Discovery Channel (which includes Meal Making Mavens from the Nearly Naked Hedonists) is in preliminary discussions to arrange for Thursday dinner, while we're at it.

(Sheesh, one of those hedonists just LOVES to cook).

Stand by, though. Decisions are still being worked out. If it turns out, as now looks likely, that extended TDC is doing THREE meals, then yeah, some pitch-in for groceries would be sweet.

Happy to help: just let us know what you need. And by "us" I mean Susan as she does all of the shopping. I just drive and write checks.

Ok then for Thursday dinner I'll make Chicken with Tomatillo Salsa. So if others can help with sides - salads and such then we'll be all set.

Left side or right side?

KS, if you really want to make that many meals, I'm not going to stop you, but I think it wouldn't be too difficult for everyone to bring something they want to grill, light up the BBQ and have a meal of your own choosing.

As long as each team is taking on the responsibility for ONE ENTIRE MEAL, I see nothing wrong with everyone just sort of doing their own thing and pitching in as needed. There may be people that don't want to make a big meal on the first night after all of the effort of setting up camp. Others may want a food extravaganza.

That being said, I am already planning on bringing extra eggs and whatever else I feel like it for MishMash. I don't mind making another salad for Thursday night either. (As long as I actually end up at camp on Thursday night - which it looks like I may at this point.)
