Twitter was attacked by a neighbor's pitbull last night. The pit was being dog sitted by a teenage girl. She took him out for a walk, just as Hubby was leaving with Twitter on his nightly jaunt. The pit broke his leash and got hold of Twitter and flung him in the air. The teen couldn't get ahold of the pit and he attempted to enter our house to get Twitter again. We finally got him to run and she caught him and re-leashed him. We rushed Twitter to Emergency Pet care where he went under the knife for the puncture wounds he had gotten from the pit to save his lungs. $1500.00 later, along with a report to Animal Control, we now have Twitter home recovering. We have notified the dog sitter and the owner (who lives a couple streets over) about the cost. Of course we are going to have problems collecting. Does anyone know if we should contact a lawyer? Or should we just proceed through small claims court?
