When they opened up the new ballpark in San Francisco, they had a team of Portuguese Water Dogs that were trained to fetch the balls that went over the wall and into the cove. If I remember correctly, Don Novello (Father Guido Sarducci) may have been one of the owners. They got a lot of coverage on local TV news. Once the season got underway, though, so many people brought inflatables, canoes, kayaks and other small boats to the cove that the dogs never got to do their thing.

I have a Standard Poodle (very closely related) who needs a haircut. The PWDs are like a SP in multi-color. :D

(And I think doggies fetching baseballs would only have enhanced the park's atmosphere)

I was in old people hell today. I had to drive my mother out to Desert Hot Springs for a funeral. I swear, there is no one under 40 living in that town!

Now, your car will die and/or require expensive repairs every 3 months. This is the way the universe works.

That's exactly what I'm worrying over. Mine will be paid off in 5 months (sooner if I can squeeze and extra payment or two out).

I did learn from a co-worker here (much younger than me) that my car is fashionable and would sell to one of her friends for some nice money. Who knew a Buick could be fashionable? :p
