So why is that at 4:19 I am still sitting here waiting for the DirecTV installer who was supposed to be here between 12-2?

I don't stand for that. I'd cancel the order and call DishNet if I were you.

I currently have 2 small rc helicopters buzzing around the living room. He can be a good dad when he wants to.

w00t! My New York connection got back to me and we're going to try to do dinner or something while I'm there. (Plus, I get to meet his partner, which should be fun.) He's had an impressive career, but is one of the least pretentious people I know. Very absent-minded professor - our conversations wander all over the map and he matches me tangent for tenuous tangent. It should be a great dinner conversation!

For the record, I didn't hear back from LSPE today. Having said that, I'm hoping that she is out and about and healthy and doesn't want to be bothered by my foolishness.
...and Kevy, I want details on your DirecTV DVR. You can enjoy it for a little while, but I expect you back at your computer posting details ASAP. |
MP - she posted I think in the Shorts thread.

Dish Network SUCKS!!!
|
Actually, we were mostly happy with Dish. The problem at our location is that the condo association installed a single dish to cover the entire building. They installed a splitter to send the Dish signal to whoever wanted it. Unfortunately, the splitter was problematic with Dish (the same setup on the DirecTV side had no problems). It is not just our building - it is a common problem in all of the buildings.
We've had Dish for about 8 years, starting before we moved here 7+ years ago. Other than the splitter problem, we've been happy with them. |
