I wonder if Oprah has ever paid public homage to the person/s who discovered her? I suppose she discovered herself, though.

Currently Oprah's on my sh!t list for peddling this trash.

Oh, I didn't realize she was behind that (or if I knew I'd forgotten).

Ok. I'll despise her.

Heh heh...she did get my MIL to read "Beloved", which she did not even remotely begin to understand. I thought it sucked hugely, but then I'm not a dead black woman so I must not 'get it'.

This time she didn't start the buzz, but she endorsed it, said she's been living by "the secret" her whole life and didn't even realize it, or some bs like that. The excerpts I've seen from it make me want to hurl.

Oprah, for the most part, makes me want to hurl. She wields enormous power over people and things that they must need to have. Does she get a cut from all she endorses?

I would not have a problem with her book club if there was something more recommended than the feel good/new age crap she prefers. Of course, I did take delight when she did get caught with her pants down some months back with the author flap (that I can't recall the details of right now).

I applaud her good works, but it got me thinking as I watched the Sherie Lansing Jean Hersholt presentation, now there's a person who is doing really good works, bravo Sherie. I don't get that with Oprah, she does plenty of good works, with her camera crew around to document the entire process. Then she does a TV special to highlight it.

Oh well, she's the one making billions, at least she's not in charge of Disneyland, I don't know if I could stand the Oprahfication.

Doh!

Well, I might have been in a past life.....where's the Corndogwalker?

I watched the special last night on the Leadership School for Girls. The girls' stories were amazing. They have been through quite a lot. I hope that the school gives them the opportunity to shine that they otherwise would likely not have been given.
