We're bringing our air mattress. I feel like a bit of a wimp for doing so, but we have the thing and it's not hard to pack. If we didn't have one I wouldn't have gone out and gotten one for this trip, but since we own it there's no good reason to forgo some comfort for the sake of being obstinate. Not that I don't enjoy being obstinate from time to time.

sounds like one of my dads 'survival' vacations to death valley when we were kids.

dad "we need a fire so we can cook"
me and bro's "ok..we need a match"
dad "sorry. no matches for joo. good luck....by the way, we dont eat 'till you three build a fire" *wanders off laughing*
 (knowing full well he had a lighter in his pocket)

Your dad sounds like a funny guy. {probably not to you guys at the time, of course}.

I am sad to be missing this fun but I kind of relate to iSm because if I had planned upon going, I would probably be freaking out right now. It just would not have worked out, it would have been stressful.

So now I am just envious but not stressing. Over this.

It is confirmed. I will be leaving tomorrow evening and driving up to Yosemite to spend Wednesday with my Brother. I will then get up on Thursday morning and head over to Kings Canyon. When you arrive at Sheep Creek, look at the bulletin board for there just might be a sign telling you where Swank Camp is. :) Then, go to said site to find Thurston, Cricket and I hard at work lounging about.

Sounds like we won't need the Bisquick for pancakes. Ken and I are picking up Saturday's dessert then.

I'll let Ken know that you'd like him to dance naked while you're cooking.

Let's talk Thursday Dinner.

KS is making chicken with tomatillo salsa. I'm going to make a black bean salad. Me thinks we need some Spanish Rice. I'll check at TJ's tomorrow and see if there is anything pre-made unless anyone has another good idea.

Dessert for Thursday is beyond my control ;)

Disneyphile 06-02-2008 03:25 PM

Sounds like lots of beans this trip.

I'll bring the Febreeze! ;)

Ghoulish Delight 06-02-2008 03:27 PM

I can take care of rice on Thursday.

katiesue 06-02-2008 03:37 PM

I've got graham crackers and hershey bars but no marshmellows.

Not Afraid 06-02-2008 03:39 PM

I have a pcak of marshmallows in the cupboard.

I just set them out with the other crap.
