From what I understand, Facebook goes through the users email list and sends out requests automatically.

I think FB just automatically generates the Friend Suggestions, not the Requests. That's pretty lame if they automatically send out the Requests.

We only have one friend in common (my daughter) so I suppose that is one possibility for the request. I just feel guilty for not wanting to accept it. I hate feeling ungenerous.

Don't feel guilty at all. Just ignore it and pretend it never happened. :)

Hah! I like this plan. I ought to try that more often, actually. I can't feel guilty if it never happened. :)

I just checked, and actually, she isn't FB friends with either one of my kids. So we actually have no friends in common at all. Weird.

If you do a friend search using your email address you have to unselect "remember these permissions" or it will access your address book and make suggestions.

A suggestion is not a request though. A request comes directly from the other person.

I ignore requests all of the time. I got a request from some old MP/MC drama queen. She couldn't pay me to be her friend.

I wish I could go out every night and play and still be able to function at work. It pisses me off that I can't do that any longer.

Of COURSE Theo decides to choose tonight, when Mom is out for the evening, to fall asleep on his stomach for the first time. He still hasn't shown the ability to roll himself back over onto his back, so I don't want to leave him there. But getting him to sleep can be an ordeal - rolling him over runs the risk of a couple of hours of unhappiness.

But I guess it was my lucky night, I got him to roll back over with no more than a sleepy sigh. :)

I miss The Boy. He is at his dad's for the week. Now that it is summer vacation we are doing every other week. He drove me nuts all weekend, but once he was gone it was way too quiet.
