Someone nominate Erica for WNTW.

I, on the other hand would rather have a root canal with no Novocaine then be on national TV.

Oh, that is the show? I just kept thinking about the show/magazine where they show the people who fug up.

Ew, how about that show where the people stand inside the clear box and people guess their age? That seems so cruel but I'd love to do it and have them do all of that work for me. I could use an overhaul.

Oh, I've seen that show - I forget what it's called. I've seen some people in serious need of some help on that show. I almost cried for this one woman. Her teeth were soooo messed up. The rest was cake, but when she fixed the teeth, she looked almost 20 years younger and had so much more confidence.

When the WNTW hosts do their "surprise" I wonder if any target ever says "**** you all, I like the way I dress so go away.."

No, that's "10 Years Younger", which Where's Barbie? from Micechat has actually been on.

What not to wear is the one where these two insufferable New Yorkers throw victims into a 4-way mirror box and make them look at themselves in their favorite outfits, and then proceed to break down everything they're doing wrong, and then send them out shopping, which they naturally f- up so then they "surprise" the person in some store or another and help them shop with the rest of the money.

Oh... almost forgot... they throw the old clothes in the trash.

I've watched WNTW for years now, and it's so very rare that the person doesn't realize their mistakes...and it's not about clothes being trendy, it's about stuff that fits your body shape. I've learned so much from that show (though I still hate shopping).

It's actually not as good as it used to be, but it still seems to change how people see themselves. Especially when they get a decent haircut. Yeech, about time I got a cut myself.

Alex, they never say "go fvck yourself" because they get $5000 to spend, shopping in New York. *wistful sigh*

You know, I once saw a behind-the-scenes WNTW and there are people that turn it down, for various reasons. Some think they're fine, but more often than that, they realize they need help and are too embarrassed to go through with the show.

But they aren't going to show you that, it makes for bad TV, and the target doesn't allow TLC to use their likeness. Supposedly, the drop-outs are when they pick up more local NY/NJ targets.

WNTW is one of the shows that Erin and I always watched together when she was younger. I still really like the show, and I'll record episodes for her.

Our running gag while watching and discussing: I regularly have to remind my daughter that I'm straight.

They don't throw them away. They donate them (and it could be argued that someone else will now be dressing poorly).

Oooh, so they're spreading the disease of bad clothing!! Or they're ensuring future work. Hmmm...
