Sooo… I’m turning into Mrs. Kravitz.
I live across the street from a Middle School/High School complex. Aside from the odd late night marching band practice and the weird deliveries in the middle of the night a few weeks ago I noticed something else odd. I got up in the middle of the night for a glass of water and noticed something was different but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Got up again a few hours later and it dawned on me that all the lights were off at the Middle/High schools. So I immediately thought, power outage. Then, no, my power was on and upon closer examination you could see some light from interiors, but all the exterior lights around the school and the parking lot were completely off. It seems the lights go off around 11:30ish and come back on around 5:30ish. Isn’t this odd? Wouldn’t you want all the lights on to detract vandals etc? I’m guessing it’s some sort of budget cut. Yea, these are the major issues that keep me up at night. |

Given my druthers, I'd turn into Endora, great clothes and always seemed to have much more fun! |

As a frequent late night traveler I've often wondered just how much electricity we'd save if cities and business didn't feel it important to keep everything lit 24 hours a day. |
Dude. Say what you want about Meet the Robinsons and how you don't want to see it-- but I just downloaded the soundtrack, and I'm a happy girl. Elfman's stuff is nice, and a return to his suburban sounds with vocal backing... I'm very fond of Rufus Wainwright so anything new from him was a delight. And I'm VERY VERY fond of They Might Be Giants, and what could be better than TMBG doing "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"?
