Good to know, thank you. I wouldn't be leaving them anyway, but still.

Guess where I just got back from spending four days? I'm ready to put the tent (if I use one) back to work.

Spoiler:

Oooo, Alex!!

So, that one shot is from Glacier Point? Did you do the hike or the drive? Please share any new info that you have, would ya?

The only part of camping I will miss are the campfires. It sure is nice to sit around one at night, roasting marshmallows and telling stories. {oh, and you guys, but I mean all of the work, etc.}

At Target they have a bunch of stuff right now, like ponchos, waterproof matches, telescoping marshmallow roasters {I couldn't resist, even though I have no immediate plans for a roasting} and I forget what else.

Ooo, if you have more pictures, do share!

How nice there is still water flowing. How was the river? I am skittish about going down it if it is gushing too much....

Yes, it is Glacier Point and we drove up. The day before we'd done Upper Yosemite Falls (I made it about 2/3rds; that is the other photo) so following that with 4 Mile (really 4.8 mile) Trail wasn't in the cards. I was sorely tempted to walk down, though, once we were up there.

Also, I was within three feet of a bear at exactly 12:32 a.m. this morning. It was cool; in the morning most camp mates did not agree. Surprisingly, when I woke Lani and told her she just said "uh huh" and went back to sleep.

Missed the question about the river. We did do the rafting and while it looked hoakey everybody agreed it was a fun time. They don't open the rafting until the water is suitably low and slow. There is no thrill in the ride, but it was a fun afternoon killer.

MouseWife 05-29-2007 09:14 PM

Ack! A bear? So, what campground were you in? Were there a lot of bear sightings?

Upper Yosemite Falls. Hmm. I think that one is too hard for me. Is that on a lot of rock, with narrow trails?

The rafting being mellow is just fine with me. A nice little workout, being in the water with my two favorite allies, I hate for it to end. Unless it is too sunny, eh? Then it is just float and burn. :eek:
