I just chanced into catching some of the press conference going on at VT. You know it isn't going to be a great day as university president when the first question is essentially "excuse me sir, but why did you kill these people?"

The press can really be pricks sometimes.

I came in at the end of the report this morning and didn't realize, until now, that there were 33 people killed. That's incredibly awful.

It was, in the beginning, then 2 hours later the s*it really hit the fan. :(

As I understand it, 2 people were killed in the first round and 31 in the second round (including the gunman) 2 hours later.

Not explicitly like I said it but the first question was "why didn't you lock down the campus after the first event. Wouldn't that have saved a lot of these lives?"

Because, of course, the appropriate response to every campus shooting is to assume a massacre is going to happen somewhere else on campus.

I'm not a big fan of them reporting that 33 people were killed and including the a-hole gunman. 32 souls died and one f**k bunny.

Two people were initially shot in the dorms. They didn't close the campus but sent out an email about the shootings (and I'm assuming they knew the gunman was still at large).

Two hours later, the gunman entered the Engineering/Science building and killed 30 more people then killed himself. In adition, 15 others were injured.
