At this point I'm figuring that downloadable HD content is going to take hold before the HD-DVD/BluRay battle is ever resolved.
I'm sure we'd enjoy Heroes, but are already over-booked on the number of TV shows we watch, and that's before we even talk about trying to keep up with our Netflix queue. |
I heard that next season will be an all new storyline with the same characters.
Anyone else hear that? |
Just finished with the Season I DVD, and I have pretty much the same questions I did the first time. I have a few random nonsense questions, but other than that - no new questions.... the big one remains... What does Mama Petrelli do?

OK...I watch Prison Break, 24, Survivor, and Lost. Never seen Heroes. Except...
I happened to catch 45 minutes of an episode tonight where some burning man kidnaps a dad and his family and it seems as if the dad is some kind of scientist working for an organization that finds people with special abilities and experiments on them? Is that right? He's the dad of Claire, some sort of invincible girl and there was another mind reader guy there and some guy who could extract memories. It intrigued me, certainly, even though I have no idea really what was going on. Wondering if it is worth my time to start watching. I'm also wondering if I would need to watch the entire first season on DVD prior to the premier on the 24th, or if I would be completely lost. I know if anyone started watching Lost now they'd have no idea what was going on without watching the first few seasons. Thoughts? |

I have no idea.
It all depends on how much time in the early season is spent reintroducing characters and vital connections for whatever the central storyline for the season will be. Hopefully they handle it somewhat gracefully (or we in trouble because the show can only lose viewers without gaining new ones) and I have no doubt that regardless it would be more fulfilling to know the entire back story from the first season. |
Well, from what I understand is that it takes viewers back a generation, or to the origins of the "powers." I'm not sure how it's going to work out, but it will hopefully answer some questions I had from the first season. So, I think it'll be good for those who are new to Heroes and those who caught the first season.
There is also something about a 6 episode series that will fill the hiatus (and will hopefully show itself as a cure for the hiatus blues so many great shows have found in the last few years), bringing this next combined season to a happy 30 episodes, instead of 24. Being that I loooooved the first season, and just re-watched it on DVD, I'd recommend picking it up - just because it's a damn good season. But, I don't think it will be 100% necessary, though perhaps helpful. |
