Took me a few minutes. St. Bede was an early Christian scholar who established some mathematical rules for calculating the correct date for Easter each year (early calendars were not a good fit for the actual solar year and knowing how to adjust so that Easter could be held on the appropriate date was a major driving force in calendar reforms up through the big adjustment to the Gregorian calendar; very interesting book on all of this here).

So I understood what "Bede watching you Easter date" literally meant. But it took several readings before I caught the audible similarity between "Easter date" and "masturbate" and the connection to the "ceiling cat is watching you masturbate" one.

Actually, for some odd reason, I am quite amused by your explanation. I admire a man who is so willing to put so much effort into getting a joke.
