Good to know I'm not just over-sensitive. When Ken called immediately, I could barely even talk because I was so freaked out.

Sorry you're so freaked out, hon. Glad you're ok. **hugs**

Side note:

Ya know you live in California when your entire afternoon TV line-up is nothing but earthquake or high-speed chase coverage.

Are your critters ok? I think our fish freaked out the most - their aquarium looked like a water park wave pool.

Animals are unfazed.

I guess our main CD rack fell and their are CDs everywhere. Only one minor break (my Precious Moments figurine collection is okay) and a few things strewn about. Overall OK.

You had to go all the way back to 1969 to find something?!? Pansy!

I was in Albertson's at the time.

I was checking out at the front of the store and I looked over at the shelves and saw them shake violently and merchandise fly off onto the floor. Reminded me of the videos of earthquakes in Japan.

The checker dropped my food and ran for the exit with evryone else in the store. For about one minute I was alll alone in the store, thinking "it's only an earthquake". So I figured I'd best head outside as well. A dozen people tried, but failed, to make calls on their cell phones. After about 5 minutes the building was still standing so the manager let us back in to complete our transactions. But he closed the store while they got the merch up off the floor.

So much fun, and it only cost me $135!

Good to know. I know how attached you are to those things, especially the one titled, "His Hole-y Happiness".

My friend's mom was at Von's and several kids beach buckets (with shovels) fell on her head. She laughed about it so I can only assume she was uninjured.
:D

I took some pictures of the damage at our building. I'll post them tonight.

Oh, and I forgot to add:

My mommy said the "F" word.

Here in Irvine, I thought it was in the mid-3's, so obviously not too dramatic. Some people guessed in the 4's. I guess we're on pretty solid ground. Barnum was GLAD to see me (full front teeth smile, never gotten one that big before) when I checked on the pups, but other than that, no noticeable effect. Nothing seems to have fallen (though, note to self, must check to see if precariously perched items on top of stove dropped)
