Yeah, put me in the "it's a non-issue" camp. She's sixteen and has been working hard. She deserves to have a little fun. It was on a Sunday night in the beginning of October - it's not like she shut down the park on July 17th.

BTW: I am wearing shorts and a short, although the shirt is unbuttoned.

What about drunken, naked posting?

Well, I'm usually not drunk, but I may be Neekid at times......

A little-known fact is that I'm a nudist at heart. I've even mowed the back yard in the buff!

Some things just should not be done nude. Not for modest but for concerns over flying things hitting sensitive parts.

No matter how she said it, it was a hard-ticketed event with profits that went to Disney. It doesn't really change anything, except for pointing out that the wealthy pop star is being somewhat left outside the loop about all of the business dealings.

They also donated $1 million to Youth Service America.

I'm pretty indifferent about Miley's party. Others have "shut down" the park for parties too. But, I think it was cool how they did open it up for fans to buy a limited number of tickets to attend. At least they thought of her fans too.

Yay!

Upon further thought I have decided that when I put what she said through the filter of a 16 year old, well it's pretty damn cool. It was a Sunday, it was no different then closing it down for Grad nights in the summer or special events at xmas.

Well, I'm glad I figured out why there was fireworks at 11:30 on a sunday.

As far as why this party happened- it's simple. It was pretty much a big hunk of advertising for both Disneyland and the Disney Channel.

I think Miley got the best deal out of it all with a great "Sweet 16" birthday party (though she was working at the same time), and some fans may have enjoyed it as well. Not to mention the $1,000,000 donation.

It's what Disney does best, synergy in advertising.

The only ones unhappy were the ones trying to sleep when the fireworks went off. 11:30 or 12 midnight is when I usually go to bed so I got to watch Miley's fireworks and was not upset at all.....

Hell, that's exactly how I'd say it if someone did that for me now!

Dear GD,

Please don't forget that Disneyland is in your backyard.

I reckon it would bother you if you had planned your 17 hours trip across the Big Wet Patch a year ahead (like we do) only to find that a chunk of the two days you had slated for the park were diminished because a local tied it up.

"A huke a huke - DisneyLand's closed - soooorrrrry" said the animatronic moose.

I'd go postal - just like Chevy Chase's Vacation...and it would take more than a giant ball of string to placate me.

Hugs,

The Stoat.
