A baja fresh steak taco, and a pile of steamed rice.

Sausage & Bread Casserole along with Green Beans/Corn, made it kid friendly and now the kid won't be home for dinner...ugh! Could have had something exotic, maybe tomorrow.

Most hippies are pretty scrawny. Isn't the meat kinda tough and stringy?

If only I was as scrawny! Maybe more frequent indulgences in my favorite quick culinary improvisations will make it so.

Leftover fried chicken (not much of it), and later, microwaved chicken chimichangas

Hippie Hash is a mix of a variety of things I throw together in an iron skillet. It usually involves garlic, lentils or beans or brown rice or couscous and fresh veggies like chard, beats, carrots, broccoli, peppers, mushrooms or whatever comes in our veggie box. I will also mix in a bit of andoullie sausage if I feel the need for protein. It is surprising delicious and reasonably healthy. It is just like the hippie food my sister used to make.

Tonight we had a home made Cassoulet with green salad and bread. I didn't make any of it and it was delicious!
