Which I could understand if they disagreed with me that the movie is stupid. But half the comments are not "you're wrong about it being stupid" but rather "you're a humorless asshole for having a problem with it being stupid."

As I've said many times, I don't have a problem at all with a movie chock full of plot holes and internal stupidity. But the movie can't just say "hey, come down to my level," it has to meet me halfway and make me want to ignore the problems.

But that said, if with all other things being equal me preferring spectacle supported by a quality story and acting (though the trailer for Country Strong does suggest that Garrett Hedlund does possess the physical capacity of facial expression, so I'll blame that on the director) makes me a snob, then I can live with that.

What, you have a problem with being a humorless asshole?

Alex 12-20-2010 04:37 PM

No, not at all (though I don't think I'm humorless, I'm certainly often an asshole), I have a problem with people proudly telling me that they excel at dumbing themselves down like I should applaud that.

I'm officially tired of rain. It's nice to know it takes 4 days of it get reach my "saturation point" but I'm ready for it to stop. The fact that I have a full schedule of dog walking tomorrow and I start a VERY full Christmas schedule the next day may have something to do with it. I'm just tired of being wet.

I still enjoy the rain, but the ants have decided it's much nice in our house and now I need to convince them otherwise.

In fashion, everything old is eventually new again. Right €uroMeinke? ;)

The poor ponies are drowning. Their stalls are already flooded and the worst of it hasn't even hit yet. And we can't let them out to run around cause the arenas are all wet and they'll slip, well Dukie can behave himself but Ivy and LuLu go bonkers and they will get hurt. Ugh.

Fun fact. There's a little arrow next to the gas pump icon on your gas gage that indicates which side of the car the filler cap is on. I NEVER KNEW THAT!

Kevy Baby 12-20-2010 08:33 PM

Comes in very handy when renting cars

Which is exactly where I learned of it.
