As some of you know, I work in the printing business and we do a fair amount of Direct Mail Marketing. Occasionally, I like to remind everyone that there is a National Do Not Mail list (much like the national Do Not Call registry) that is maintained by the DMA (Direct Marketers Association). Unlike the Do Not Call list, the Do Not Mail list is maintained and used by respond mailers (such as us) voluntarily and is offered as a tool to individuals who want to control the amount of mail they receive and what kind of solicitations you receive (no, you cannot use this to stop bills from coming in :)).

If it makes you feel any better, if the government weren't deducting that, the supply/demand model of economics holds that the check would be for less. So the net result is not as much of a decrease of money in your pocket as you think it is (the difference being contingent how elastic/inelastic your profession's salary curve is).

Back from the WDW half marathon just in time for Snowmaggedon: Upstate NY edition. I don't have much food at home, so I guess it will be chocolate and cookies until further notice.
