Man, I was looking for this stuff in the Vent thread, and hadn't been reading the So... thread.

Erica, my thoughts and love are with you and J. Lisa and Chris, my heart goes out to you, and it reminds me all too much of my experience with my mother. I'm here for anything you need, even just dropping off dinners at your doorstep while you're out. Kevin, I have lots of experience with a parent with low platelets - please let me know if you want to talk. Everyone, I wish you nothing but strength and peace in these difficult situations.

Feel like a knight who slayed the dragon today. I know there are many more difficult battles ahead, but it's nice to finally have a win.

Today was almost a good day. It had lots of small victories at least.

I was thinking about calling you and got this from my Dad:
Quote:

The platelets count is now 206,000 (ideal range between 150,000 &450,000). Nothing wrong with my bone marrow it is perfect and the same with the spleen. They now believe the cause of the loss of platelets maybe a viral infection. This happens on occasion and is cured with meds. It usually will not return, but they will watch me for awhile.
Good news!
