I hate my chair at work. Too bouncy.

There's no lock on this one, so if you lean back, the whole chair tips back on its base. I get no back support from that whatsoever. No wonder I'm always hunched over my desk. At least it doesn't give.

It used to be just the local taquerias that stocked the stuff, but now those glass bottles of sugary goodness are turning up all over the city. On Saturday, Heather and I were strolling around Hayes Valley and popped into Fritz for a couple of cones of fries (she had the kalamata ketchup, I got the balsamic mayo), and I was delighted to spy the coke bottles in their cooler. A perfect afternoon snack.

They better sell the stuff in LA (I'd be surprised if they didn't).

Hmmm, I'm more tempted by the fries......chipotle mayo, yum

Do you like it because of the glass bottles, or the sugar cane sweetner?

It's the sucrose (not necessarily sugar cane - could also be beet sugar) as opposed to the fructose. The taste is better, and it doesn't leave the same feeling in my mouth that Coke Classic does.

The glass bottles are a bonus - but I'd buy it in cans if the sucrose Coke was available that way.

And Snowflake, the fries are great. There's a Valencia St. location opening in a couple of weeks.

We ate at Ruby's yesterday and I had fries with chunks of sauteed garlic on them. Delish! I love/hate the flavored fry trend.

Yes, the Mexican Coke is better. The roach coach that comes by our office sometimes has it (it doesn't come until noon, though).

I've had that! It's garlic overload (but in a good way)!

Feeling any better after all of this discussion about coke, JW?

JWBear 05-14-2007 11:16 AM

Actually... after I posted that, I was able to beg a can from a co-worker who had some in her desk. It was warm, but I have a glass and we have an ice machine…. :D

I don't see it around just anywhere, and there's only one place off the top of my head that's not a catering truck that carries it and it's Chili My Soul. It's in Encino, and it has some really amazing chili. Even if not for the Mexican coke you need to go there just for the amazing food, whenever you're in the Van Nuys area.

Simply amazing.
