True. I vividly remember being a teenage girl and feeling well within my rights to be obnoxious. It seemed to me that things needed shaking up. (I was a bit of a late bloomer.)

I can't say I always enjoy teen shenanigans but quite often I find myself grinning at seeing kids work on societal boundaries, ie, making asses of themselves.

I was talking about pre-teens. A whole different ballpark.

CP: I remember thinking that people gave a crap about the things we did, such as spirit chants, etc. We thought we were so cool, haha.

Heh, exactly! We'd sing at the top of our lungs in very public places.

Valid point. Some early talker girls begin excelling at drawing attention to themselves at age 2. Sure, it can be cute, but after a while...

So it's only a 16x16 "house" and the balloons are weather balloons not standard party balloons, but I don't care. This exists (thanks to NatGeo) and that is awesome.

Eh, making a house float wasn't the incredible part. I want to see them tie it to someone's waist and then have that person drag it around wherever they go for a couple of days.

At the risk of pissing people off...

Religion is like a pen¡s
It's fine to have one.
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.
And please don't try to shove it down my throat.

Alex 03-07-2011 10:31 PM

Dang, turns out I'm a radical feminist on the issue of religion metaphors.

I just saw an unpleasant looking woman on a bicycle fly past the window....
