Well, as cranky as I seem, I'm actually in a really good mood this week. I'm looking forward to tonight. Ralphie's coming to tonight's performance.
My only problem with this play is that we're the last One Act to go up out of 8. So, we have to do a lot of waiting around in the Green Room. Bleh.

I don't know if the song 'America' would make sense if both gangs were of mixed racial backgrounds. Then again, maybe it would. The song is sung by just the women in the play version. If the women were all Latina it would work, I guess the men could be all different. It's a good question, though.

But of course, Go out there and break a tentacle. I'm sure your performance will capture the very sole of the character. Everything will go swimmingly, and the audience will have a whale of a time!

:D

I'm kidding.

Thanks... for all the fish, Moonliner. :)

Oh fra, a Larsenic meet would be delightful.

Not Afraid 07-13-2006 07:36 PM

Well, I want to see Farcenic and I want to see MBC's band again, I just don't want to go out of the house at the moment. The thought of doing anything - even fun stuff - sems unreasonable to me. 90 degrees is beyond my threashold for most things - even though I suject myself to 4 days of hellish temps for Coachella.

BAH!

Hey, thanks for all the kind words, esp. fellow mummer GC. How's the 1 act fest going? I mean, aside from all the waiting around in the green room?

I'd love to have a meet! There's a particularly swanky restaurant behind the theatre called Damon's, tiki decor to die for.

The show went more smoothly for me tonight, no prop drama, no bloody anythings, full house! One weird thing is that the pince-nez I'm wearing are prescription, and not mine. This is the first time I've done a show at this theatre where I can't really see the audience. I had no idea we had a full house until late in the play.

I think I'm getting a crush on the guy that plays Jonathan. Weird.

The festival is going great. We had a big house last night. Lots of great feedback. Everyone's energy was doubled last night. Each piece rocked.

'Surprise' went off well, too. It's tough being the last show to go up, but the crowd was really jonesing to laugh because the one before us was more on the dramatic side. Halway through our piece, moments before I was to get a glass of water thrown in my face, I noticed that the glass was particularly full last night. I thought, 'Well, I'm taking a huge shower in about t minus 10 seconds.' It was a huge splash and the audience laughed.
Ralphie loved it. I got red roses. :)

Glad it went well. Sometimes if the part doesn't call for glasses, I gladly take them off. It's a trick I heard Stevie Nicks uses to ward off stage fright. It helps. But then again, my prescription isn't that strong.

Don't do it, G2D! Run away! :D Having had several stage crushes and having been a stage crush several times, it's not a road to go down. That is, until after the show's over and after you find out the affection is being reciprocated. ;)

I'm too late, but don't forget the old stage adage:

"Remember your lines and don't trip over the furniture".

Chookers, darls !
