I assume you'll go swanky, but if any of you are inclined to check the downtown staple, The Pantry, I'd avoid at all costs. Even their breakfast menu is suffering these days. Bad. Food.

Thanks for the tip, EH.

Now, can you tell me precisely where Figueroa suddenly becomes a one-way street??

;)

Hah, hah! No, I can't. As a pedestrian, they're all both ways to me. Not for much longer!

I'm not sure if this was on her list of suggestions, but we had a wonderful meal at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant.

Quite possibly the best desserts I've ever had. It also affords a lovely view of the city.

From looking at Google Maps and confirming with street view, it appears that Figueroa becomes a one way street (heading North) North of Olympic.

The restaurant I was thinking of is Nick and Steph's Steakhouse.

It's a Patina Group property and aways good. It's right near the music center property. It alse serves MEAT which I thought would be appropriate given what we're experiencing earlier in the day. However, I think someone should make reservations. I'm heading out again in a few minutes, and can't make the ressie until this evening. Does someone else want make the call?

Happy to call them - what time do we want ressies for?

Sounds good to me -- it's roughly 3 blocks from the Ahmanson (probably a 10 minute walk) and we get to pass by the Walt Disney Concert Hall too.

Show starts at 2. So what do you think? 5 or 5:30 reservations? Not sure how long the show actually is supposed to let out.

EDIT: Performance length according to the website is 2 hours 10 minutes. With a 20 minute intermission that lets us out around 4:30, and then we need time to get to the restaurant.

I'd say 5:00 or 5:15 should be sufficient.

We're set for 9 peeps at 5 PM. Let me know if we need to make any changes.

Awesome thanks!!! Just stick their # in your phone - if we're running a little behind schedule we can always give em a ring to let them know we're en route.

Done - and they have my cell should there be any "issues".
