[derail] what a cutie in your avatar! [/derail]

I am very excited that the walk through is opening back up. I loved the feeling of being inside an old castle. My little granddaughter is going to LOVE the whole thing. She is a true princess. ;)

I am trying to keep myself sane and not schedule a Christmas time trip just to show her the walk through. (seeing as how I am from WA and have been down 5 times in the last year, I really need to wait 'til next year :p )

. . . now maybe someone will convince them to reopen the Skyway! :D

I'm about excited about this as when they redid the bathrooms next to Alice in Wonderland.

Hey now, they did a good job on those bathrooms!

The name is now an unpronounceable glyph.

I love that the walkthrough is coming back, it's just kind of frustrating that it's 13 years and counting since Disneyland got an actual new E-ticket.

So, according to what Tony Baxter said on the new Sleeping Beauty DVD set, the walkthrouh is being restored to the original 1957 version with updated effects. So this will not be the 1977 'Barbie doll' version we last saw in 2001, nor will it be a new version.
The reopening date has been pushed back to December 12th.

BTW: If you haven't already done so, purchase this new release of Sleeping Beauty. The film has been rematted to it's full 2.55:1 aspect ratio (previous releases were matted @ 2.35:1). The original audio mix (recorded in Germany) has also been restored. The film sounds & looks better than ever!

Take a look:

Wow: I feel like I just watched the movie :)

Thanks Issac!

I did get the DVD, but I'm going to wait to see it on my new HD LCD TV and Blueray. But I did watch the castle walkthrough segment. There will be a few things missing from the original, though they were short lived anyway (Goon eyes, and add-a-snore) and something is being added that was never in the original version (though I can't remember what it is at the moment). Also, one thing that was short lived in the original will now be brought back (in spoiler in case you want to be surprised).

Spoiler:
Malificent's shadow at the exit

The original one was so much better than the Main Street window version. I'm looking forward to it.
