I don't think they really made a direct profit from the party. The advertising may help the bottom line but at $250 per ticket for 5,000 tickets that's 1.25 million. They gave 1 million to charity. I'm pretty sure they spent the other $250,000 on expenses. Of course there's the tax write-off of the donation, but it sounds to me like a great way to get "free advertising".

Actually, the party guests got kicked out around 10 or 11 or so. Miley and her party got extra time once the screaming fans were gone to actually enjoy themselves. I heard the Indy crew was extended till like 2am.

Really? That's cool, at least she got to enjoy herself then. I wonder if her dad hung around with her.....

I do hope she behaved better than (what I heard) Lindsy Lohan did.

So the 11:30pm Fireworks were AFTER all the paying guests were kicked out?

Interesting question. Perhaps just her close friends and media got to see that part. That would be strange, though. Perhaps the paying guests were "kicked out" of the rest of the park to the closing ceremonies on Main Street (the cake and happy birthday song, and fireworks) then were kicked off Main Street shortly there after?
