Left or right? Seems the right might fit.

They didn't cut that much out, damn them. Sadly, even after a partial mastectomy, I'm still not a B.

I realized it's kind of like looking at baby pictures. Awwww, look how cute and little!

Wow, you guys are great. To be able to have such disscutions openly without anyone getting hurt. I never thought I'd see such a thing!

Of course I thought Lisa was cleaning her hair "Tossing and cleaning," but I digress....

Here's to you guys  Cheers!

I kept my son's cast from when he broke his leg falling of the slide ladder at about 3 years old. How cute and small is right!

I have my daughter's from when she was 2- can still smell the moldering tarter sauce she crammed up in it the last week she had to wear it.

Mousey Girl 08-28-2006 08:52 PM

My mom threw out my cast from 3rd grade. I was bummed. My x-rays are still around somewhere.

Jughead P. Jones 08-29-2006 07:20 AM

After hearing all these stories about casts and the like, I feel gypped that I never got one. (or perhaps lucky that I never injured myself seriously enough to get one)

The only bone I ever broke was in 4th grade, when I broke my pinky finger. But, the way I broke it was kinda cool...if you consider that I had it smashed by a kid who whipped a bowling ball right at my hand.

Gemini Cricket 08-29-2006 07:26 AM

Ralphie's undersea adventure postponed to next week. He will let me know exact dates. They did send a sub down to pick up experiments at the bottom of the ocean though. They have live animals (deep sea tube worms) on board now.
:)

Mousey Girl 08-29-2006 07:52 AM

I am sitting here, dressed and almost ready to go to another job interview. I feel a bit cheated with my last one...I came in 2nd for the job with Direct TV. This one is for CleanSource as a CSR. The only good thing I can say is that at least the interviews I have been going to have been on my side of town, within 10 mins from my house.

Sooo...the phone rings yesterday, Office Team, one of the temp services I am signed up with calls. They have a 1 day job for me...for TODAY!!

I have decided that temp services have impeccable timing. The other service I am signed up with called me for a job while I was on assignment with Office Team. When I told them I was unavailable due to another assignment they got so ticked that they haven't called me since.

It didn't seem particularly dead, but neither did it seem the slightest bit concerned with me and whatever business I might have to conduct in there.

Mousey Girl 08-29-2006 10:24 AM

When I lived in Hilmar we had a bug zapper at the entrance to a breezeway. The thing would attract Miller Moths. Those suckers were huge 2-3" on average!!

I am home from my interview...not sure how it went. the funny thing is that they hire through a temp service for your first 600 hours. Of course it is one of the temp services I am signed up with, and the one I ticked off 2 weeks ago. *sigh*

I did see an ad for Pleasant Hawaiian Holiday's call center. Everything in the ad was perfect, I would be a shoe in for it...until I saw that the call center supervisor was one of my old managers from SBC, and NOT one of the ones I got along with.

I get to take Nick to the dentist...poor kid has some serious work to be done. I really feel for him. I am just hoping I don't fall asleep in the office waiting for him to be done.

He is happy right now, though. He left 1/2 of his homework at school and I bought him some Yugioh cards and a new stuffed Pokemon today. I just wish he is as happy when we get back home.

Gemini Cricket 08-29-2006 03:44 PM

Can I just say that 'While You Were Out' on TLC totally stresses me out. I'm sure it says tons about who I am as a person, but the whole time deadline thing is a total nail biter.
But it's worth it watching the cute host and cute carpenters...

I can't watch those types of shows. I don't want anyone messing with my stuff, especially my WDCC and Enesco animated, mice music boxes.

We were done at the dentist within a 1/2 hour. He has 2 fillings in his permanent teeth and had 2 baby teeth extractions. The novacaine is wearing off and he is hurting. He is eating icecream with bananas and has an icepack on his face.

Gemini Cricket 08-29-2006 06:10 PM

And in this show, they totally messed up a kitchen counter and weren't ready when the deadline hit. Oy vey. Enough to give a stickler like me a heart attack.

Dentist. I guess I gotta go see one of them when I get back. Bleh. I've never heard of a baby teeth extraction. Is that when it takes too long to fall out? Mmmm ice cream!

Basically the baby tooth had gone bad and needed to be pulled before it infected the adult tooth. 1 of them was a part of a root that was left during a previous extraction. He is doing better now. I am still going to keep him home tomorrow.

Another TLC show I can think of that is just as stressful for the poor woman that is ambushed is "Take Home Chef".

Not only do they have to cook a meal before the family gets home, but imagine how the husbands feel when they see their wives cooking up a storm with ANOTHER MAN...who abducted them from a supermarket and lured them away with the promise of free groceries! OH THE HORROR!!!

BarTopDancer 08-29-2006 09:24 PM

........... this is growing up.

RStar 08-29-2006 11:10 PM

GC, some teeth, baby or adult, never pop up and get infected and have to be removed. Some people have been known to grow a second baby tooth that tries to come in and cause everything to grow crooked or doesn't come up and gets infected. It's not that uncommon.

wendybeth 08-29-2006 11:30 PM

Irony of ironies.

I was finally given some real work at the new job today (been doing real work, but a trained monkey could have done it).

They have some 300 reports they are converting from one format to another. Currently they have an independent contractor doing it at a rate of about 1/day. My job is to learn how to do that so they can get rid of the independent contractor and save money.

Irony? I got the new job because I was an independent contractor that got the budget ax.

RStar 08-31-2006 01:00 PM

That is Irony!

Good luck to you! And may you get 2/day done and blow that contractor out of the water!

mousepod 08-31-2006 06:20 PM

Not a trip report yet, 'cause I'm still on the trip, but I just heard two of the funniest Jungle Cruise lines I've heard in a long time. Apologies to APers who've heard these before:

To a guest who refused to play along and lean to one side to avoid the Falls:
"Lady, this isn't TV. I can see you."

"A downed plane! That can only mean one thing: HIPPOS!"

Having fun. Wish you were here.

David was given another P.O.S. vehicle. This time it was a 74 El Camino in really ugly shape. I think I mentioned it before, he isn't allowed to bring it home. Well...he has the thing running now and was given a good deal on a new windshield. He wants to get it done this weekend. I just got back from AAA. I had to pay $224 to change the title and register it. It hadn't been registered in over 2 years. David's reply was that the tags on it are 2005. 10-1 they were stolen tags. The previous owner (not the one who gave it to David) was a tweaker, so nothing with this car would surprise me.

scaeagles 09-02-2006 11:42 AM

So...I left something at my office Friday that I needed this weekend, so having been told that Saturday access was fine, I went in to pick it up.

As soon as I open ed the door with my cool security card thing, I heard a beeping and realized they hadn't given me an alarm code. So the alarm starts going off.

I had no phone numbers of anyone in the office. I called the alarm company (phone number was on the alarm), but I didn't have the password, so they wouldn't give me any info.

After about 20 minutes of searching for a phone number, I found and called the emergency customer support line we have for customers of our software.

The guy gave me his code to turn off the alarm. When I was ready to go I rearmed it (hopefully) with the same code.

Sigh. Not a good thing.

Soooo.....Having a boring yet somewhat productive day. I'm now in the middle of my semi-annual Fawn Hall Event, in which I gather up the copious amounts of mail and such that has accumulated over the past six months and commence to shredding. I've mowed my way through two very large piles, and now only have to go through the mounds on top of our kitchen island and desk.

We're on vacation all week; we were supposed to be on a cruise going from NY to Nova Scotia but events conspired against us and we had to cancel our plans. Now I'm glad we did- between the restrictions when flying and the storm off the East coast (Ernesto, I believe) the fun would have been diminished. I checked in on our former cruise at Cruise Critic, and one person on board said the weather was bad, ocean really tumultuous and the Martha's Vineyard stop had to be cancelled. We're looking at a Hawaiian cruise or a trip to Europe next year instead.

Friday we're going to Seattle for the weekend- going to stay at a nice hotel in downtown and hit all the tourist traps like Pioneer Square, the Market and the museums. We seldom do that anymore- we either just stop off while flying to elsewhere, or we visit relatives and hang out at their homes. It will be nice to get away, even if it is for a short time.

So, it was apparantly a slow news day in the Seattle area recently. My great aunt (101 years old) made headlines...because she got a frappuccino.

She was quick to point out to my mom that, while the article says she and her friend walked across the parking lot, she was actually pushed in her wheelchair.

She's one awesome lady and I hope to be as sharp as her when I'm...well crap, I hope to be as sharp as her when I wake up tomorrow.

wendybeth 09-06-2006 10:41 AM

Your aunt sounds like a great lady- I love cool old people and could talk with them for hours. Think of everything your aunt has seen and experienced in her lifetime! I don't think getting old would suck too badly if one could remain as sharp as she is, especially if coffee is still on the menu.

Cool! I can't wait!

And GD, I guess your aunt has proved that coofee isn't all that bad for you!

LSPoorEeyorick 09-06-2006 08:18 PM

So... I just choked.

I was eating a sliced heirloom tomato with cottage cheese, and I was biting one of the tomato wedges and accidentally bit through the front 10% while the back 90% slipped down my throat and got lodged.

My throat kept spasming so I thought it was going down, but it turns out it wasn't, so I ran into the kitchen where Tom was finishing the asparagus, and I gave him the international "tomato lodged in my throat" symbol. He promptly administered the Heimlich Maneuver (god bless Heimlich-- god bless Tom!) and sent the tomato flying out.

It was very, very surreal. I always thought choking would hurt, but mostly it was slightly confusing and uncomfortable. But damn, that Heimlich works!

wendybeth 09-06-2006 08:36 PM

LS, I'm so glad you're all right!!!!!!

I've choked a few times and it's very scary. I'm so glad you realised early enough that it wasn't going to move- many people just panic and try to deal with it until it's too late to find someone to help them. Kudos to your man!:snap:

katiesue 09-06-2006 08:53 PM

Glad you're ok. Kudos to both you and Tom for quick thinking.

CoasterMatt 09-06-2006 08:55 PM

First off, glad to hear you're ok...

But I gotta ask, did you get any good distance from the tomato wedge?

Only you Matt. Only you.

cirquelover 09-06-2006 09:10 PM

Wow, thank goodness Tom was there to help you! I'm glad you're ok.

LSPoorEeyorick 09-06-2006 09:24 PM

Hee hee. No, it only got spit as far as my hand-- so I don't know if it would've gotten much air.

I will say this: it was only about three minutes before I said to Tom, "do you mind if I go call mom... and post at LoT?" He said he knew I was going to say that.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 09-06-2006 09:29 PM

Glad your ok H. I knew I hated tomatos for some good reason!! :)

On another note, Looks like a new job for the big B. Good $$ and I start on Monday~! Whoo hooo! I think I'll treat myself to some Ice Cream and the Little Mermaid tomorrow night. (the movie that is!) ;)

Motorboat Cruiser 09-06-2006 09:37 PM

Glad to hear that you are ok, Heidi!

I had a strange experience with choking the other evening. I was sleeping and must have burped up a bit of gastric acid. For some reason, it made my throat close up and I woke up unable to breath. I was freaking out for a few seconds, as was Matthew, until I forced myself to relax enough to finally get some air in.

The adrenaline rush of the whole thing kept me up for hours afterwards.

€uroMeinke 09-06-2006 09:58 PM

Cheers to LSpoorEyorick - who almost made an untimely departure due to a tomato slice. I am happy Tom was there to read your sign language. I'm happy you're okay, and celebrate your continued existence tonight.

Gemini Cricket 09-06-2006 10:01 PM

Tom is the hero of the day! 3 cheers for him.
We're glad you're still here, LSPE!

You're not preggers, are you?;)

The same thing happened to me when I was expecting, and it was very scary. I wound up developing acid reflux, which I still deal with to this day.

Prudence 09-06-2006 10:36 PM

I *knew* I refused to take tomatoes in my lunch today for a reason! Yoiks! My mom recently had to give my dad the Heimlich at the Black Angus restaurant by them. You'd think that would get notice, but apparently no one paid any attention. Seems like there should be lights and sirens and chorus girls and so forth - all celebrating the not-dying. Did chorus girls appear for you?

Sadly, no. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to report that we had to have scaeagles fixed. He was popping out too many future conservatives. Something had to be done.

scaeagles 09-07-2006 05:31 AM

Yeah, all you wimps with your supposed throat problems. I laugh at your throat problems!

Actually, glad you're OK. Shouldn't you have posted this in some sort of "cheating death" thread and compared yourself to the perpetual death cheater CP?

And MBC, I stopped producing offspring of my own free will. While they will be fine future conservatives, all children are whiney little liberals, wanting you to give them everything for free without an understanding of the work or cost involved to give them what they think they need. :)

It's ok if she one-ups me. I've got the dislocated kneecap story GD mentioned. ;)

Mousey Girl 09-07-2006 09:01 AM

I have been up almost 24 hours. I just can't sleep. The laundry is folded, chicken is defrosting for dinner (so that I can get it marinating), I hard boiled the recently expired eggs, I have finally updated my anti-virus for the computer, and the trash has been taken out. *whew*

I also have company today. Nickolas has been complaining of a sore throat to the past few days. He said he tried to tell his teacher that he needed to go home yesterday, but she wouldn't listen. I did manage to get out him that this was after 2 other boys had left. So today he is home. He is driving me nuts.

I am watching Thudder dig up the bedding on their cage. Poor Fluffer's face is covered with the bedding Thud is tossing around. I scared her when I called her name, just like a guilty kid, "What, who me?" But she did stop digging. She knows Nick is home and she wants out.

I really need sleep.

Mousey Girl 09-07-2006 10:03 AM

I also sent out 7 resumes.

We did take the girls out, now they are all sleeping.

OOOO!!! Now I have a job interview for tomorrow morning! Yeah!

I am finally feeling the financial stress of not working, that is part of my insomnia.

RStar 09-07-2006 05:51 PM

Do not try to cut off and apply a large piece of cling wrap to a large bowl while standing 12" away from an oscillating fan. It will come around....

Mousey Girl 09-08-2006 06:20 PM

My interview went well. The first thing I was told was that out of the 50 resumes they recieved mine was by far the best and most professional. I should know Monday or Tuesday.

After Nick got home from school I layed down for a bit. I got up to find a message on my voice mail for another interview, but their office was closed, so I will call them back Monday.

I also found a housefull of kids. We have both of Dawn's little ones. The first thing the 5 yr old said was, "My mom said you can cook us dinner tonight." All I could think was how special. I ended up ordering pizza.

*sigh* Gonna be a longgggggg weekend.

RStar 09-08-2006 11:05 PM

I ordered something from a guy on eBay whose seller name is "jartinafar". I think it's a derivation of "Fart in a Jar". Must be his hobby.......:D

I can't get Jafar out of my head when I see it, though. I then picture Jafar farting into a jar, trapping it in like a Genie.

[Robin Williams Voice in the jar] Okay, who cut the cheese? [/Robin Williams Voice]

Is there something wrong with me??

scaeagles 09-09-2006 09:12 PM

So...I get an email today.

A former college roommate, who was one of my best friends my freshman year in college, had been feeling sick for a while, and was admitted to a hospital for some testing. Yesterday he was diagnosed with advanced leukemia. He literally died a few hours later.

Blink.

How can someone have advanced leukemia to the point of death and not have known sooner?

While I hadn't maintained more than limited contact with him in the last few years, I am saddened by the loss of a great person who was a great friend during college. He is one of the few people I have ever known that truly had it as a goal to make the lives of everyone he had contact with better. Self sacrificing, caring, and compassionate.

He was 38 years old.

Sorry to hear that Scaeagles. Life is so weird. Each new day just amazes me.

I hope you cherish his memory.

€uroMeinke 09-10-2006 12:09 AM

Leukemia can be like that sometime. Happend to one of the managers I work with, vibrant exuberant woman who started feeling off so went to the Doctors and was dead within 3 months. It was unbelievable that something like that could happen, but I guess it does. I'm sorry for your loss, it's always hard when one of your contemporaries goes.

scaeagles 09-10-2006 08:44 AM

The whole thing is just rather surreal. Like I said, it isn't like we were close now, and only had the occassional email anymore. Like ML posted, it's important to cherish each and every moment, because who knows how long we have.

I realized I've actually discussed this friend before here or perhaps on another board prior to the creation of the LoT, and perhaps MBC might remember. He is someone who...discovered? realized?...that he was gay only somewhat recently, even though he had girlfriends and such during college and HS. In some thread or another I was saying how I thought that was odd that he was seemingly happy and....well, hetero, for lack of a better word....and then either came out or made a discovery or some such thing.

RStar 09-10-2006 08:14 PM

I'm sorry to hear about that as well.

It's a stark reminder of our mortality, isn't it?

wendybeth 09-10-2006 11:16 PM

Sooo....We went to Seattle for the weekend, and had a very fun and interesting time. I am no stranger to Seattle, but the past few years we have pretty much just zipped through it on our way to somewhere else. This time, we stayed downtown in a nice little boutique hotel and really got to absorb some of the atmosphere. As much as it pains me to say it, I truly love Seattle. (I just hate how much of our tax dollars, etc, they get as opposed to the Eastern side of Washington). Anyway, took a few pics and had some fun experiences that I will post in a mini-trip form here in the next day or so.

Prudence!!!! I got your messages, but too late to meet up! (My phone died and I didn't get your voicemail until today). We're planning on another jaunt next month, so hopefully we can arrange a PNW Swankfest then, okay?

I went with Susan shopping for shoes for her for her sister's upcoming wedding. We never got out of Nordy's.

I am such a mo: I love shopping for clothes for Susan. We found a cute pair of comfortable shoes for her that fit the bill - total "Wicked" (as in the musical) shoes. Comfort was import as she is the Matron of Honor and it is a full Catholic Mass ceremony.

How is it that two Atheists/agnostics (not 100% where they stand) could raise a devout Catholic and a Pagan?!?

BarTopDancer 09-12-2006 07:03 PM

I have to move because my landlord is a flake and I'm pretty sure my kitchen cabnet is rotting out and there is mold growing in it. School started and I am a week behind, I am exhausted from work and I have a constant headache because of the kitchen issues.

I bet I can beat your landlord. At the last house we lived in, the owner sold the house WITHOUT TELLING US. The new owner showed up one day and said he wanted to be in within a couple of weeks.

It was 45 or so days and a lot of headaches for the previous owner before the new owner could get in.

I have yet another sinus infection. I was feeling better until the winds picked up on Friday. Saturday night there was a lot of dust (and 4500 people). By Sunday morning I was coughing up dirt.

I got a letter in the mail yesterday, I didn't get the job I interviewed for on Friday. I spent a very longggg night crying and depressed. Between not having a job and finances and everything else going on here at home (my b-day sucked~David ignored me~thank God I have a few good friends and my parents and Nickolas), my sleep cycle is all screwed up. I am very proud of myself right now. I bought a toy net for Nick's room, for his stuffed Pokemon about a month ago. I had asked David to put it up since it required using a drill to make the holes for the anchors. He never did, so today I did it! I couldn't find the thingy to unlock the drill bit so I did have to go to my neighbor to change it, but I did it!! (I won't mention the trouble I had with the first hole because I had the drill going the wrong direction)

scaeagles 09-13-2006 07:19 PM

So....I just heard about a restaurant I had never heard of before...the "Heart Attack Diner".

I guess they only serve greasy, fat laden food, and the waitresses are dressed as scantily clad nurses, and after you eat, they wheel you to your car in a wheel chair.

TY! I used to be quite handy around the house, but I fell into a married rut and let David take care of the repairs. With him not around as much I am having to relearn a lot of stuff. Sunday (my b-day) he was out and I fixed my toilet.

Not to mention I am the lone black widow killer. I just killed 4 more. They are really bad this year.

wendybeth 09-13-2006 11:55 PM

I now have 2 job interviews tomorrow and 1 on Monday. The one tomorrow morning is with Nextel. I don't remember applying for it, but it is worth the time to hear what it would entail. I am just hoping it isn't a retail position, this is about taking steps forward and for me, retail is a huge step back.

Tomorrow afternoon is with www.howcool.com . They have several different office positions open. It would be the same type of thing I did at SociallyYours, phones, email, faxes, filing, ect... Only 1 problem, it is waaaay on the other side of town, and will take 30-45 minutes to get out there, but depending on which way I go it could be a very pleasant drive. Nickolas is a bit peeved because I told him I wouldn't be home when he got home from school.

Monday is with Colombo Construction as a data entry type thing, either in the office or on job sites. This one is one my manicurist/friend helped me get. The office manager is a client of hers and mentioned she was looking for office help. Deanna immediatly thought of me.

I just want a job, where I can go to work and get paid for it. We have enough money to pay bills with only David's check, but not enough to play with. My goal is to get something soon so that we can take a trip for Nickolas' b-day in December. I have already figured out where we would go and where we would stay, I just need to be able to pay for it before I finalize anything.

On another topic, I got a wild hair and we had meatloaf for dinner. I finally got an appitite and took full advantage by cooking a nice dinner. Even the rats are eating dinner, potatos and corn.

So, where is he??? I haven't seen him around in a while.

GC, who's the guys in the photos you use in your avators? If you don't mind me asking...

Matterhorn Fan 09-14-2006 07:58 PM

He just wanted to know what we were all up to. Think how many hours of entertainment we've provided him, and all he had to do was ask one simple question months ago. The things we do . . .

So FEJ, what are you doing right now?

Not Afraid 09-14-2006 09:15 PM

Earlier today, he was doing laundry and waiting for a tow truck. I tell ya, his life is WAY more exciting than anyone's here.

Cuz that is just so Fej like.

And actually, Fej didn't start the thread: Übergeek did.

I thought so cause they looked so vintage and cool, but I didn't know if they were family, or reproductions. And frankly weren't sure they were gay, men were allowed to touch and stuff back then, you know. Even kiss. But these days if you show effection at all people talk. But that's fine with me, they can talk all they want, I still will hug men I'm close to. So there!:p

Mousey Girl 09-15-2006 05:35 PM

Well... I had my 2 interviews today. Nextel was pretty much what I expected. Main drawback is it is only $8.50/hr. The one this afternoon with HowCool.com was verrrry different. The fist thing I noticed (after spotting the workout equipment in the lobby) was people running around barefoot. They had already decided they wanted me in the customer service dept. I ended up being surrounded and interviewed by 3 different people, the 2 girls doing the hiring and the cust svc dept head. They told me the job only paid $8/hr and when I balked the girls took off and had a conference. They came back and said they wanted me to talk to the owner and see about giving me a manager title so they could pay me more.

The drive out there was very surreal. It is just over a hill from where I used to live with The Old People. It used to be out in the middle of nowhere. It ain't nowhere any more! I was shocked at the amount of building going on. Mesa Marin (Nascar raceway) was even torn out and it just had it's last race in April! It is already graded for more houses. The empty field in front of our old house (around 1000 acres) now has houses on it. I guess they solved the water issues (really bad water due to oil drilling).

It just kills me that all these open areas are no longer open.

We don't have a shirt concept yet. Hopefully after we decorate and move into the new place we'll have a moment to breathe and come up with something.

So, today's panel feels I have "credibility issues." They couldn't articulate what they meant by that, of course or otherwise provide me with any useful feedback. It's just a "sense" they had. I guess I just look like a liar.

The spike appears to be around the 12th of July or so- maybe a big meet, the birthday or just a Spider infestation?

Soooo..... brutal day at work today. I was dreading it intensely- not only had I scheduled my stupid ass to work nearly 12 straight hours without a break, but I caved in for a friend and agreed to style an entire wedding party in the a.m. I am not a morning person, and I had to be there by 7:30. Then, the bride turned out to be majorly OCD, which I discovered during the two practice styles we did prior to the wedding, and her call to me at home earlier this week. (Just to make sure I would be on time, etc). Now, I have been doing hair for twenty years, and have extensive experience with wedding styles. I also decided to only do friends and family in the past few years because, frankly, weddings tend to be a PITA and seldom worth the money, in that no one can pay me enough to put up with some of the crap I have over the years. Anyway, while I really like the bride and understand she can't help herself with regards to the OCD, I really did not want to show up today.

Imagine my surprise when she turned out all smiles and calm, and I was equally relieved to get the five elaborate updo's done in under three hours, leaving her plenty of time to get OCD on the photog's ass. I was exhausted by the time I was done, and I still had another 8+ hours to go. I am sooo glad I have the next three days off. I'm getting too old for this ****.

I am off for my interview with the construction company. After that I get to go to the grocery store. I have a craving for chicken & dumplings tonight, so I need to get the chicken and veggies. After that it is home, get everything started, do dishes and take out the trash. Once Nick gets home we will run leftovers from Thursday's dinner out to The Old People. We aren't going to eat them and my dad loves meatloaf but mom won't make it for him. Then it is back home to clean the beasties and beat the boy into doing his homework.

I babysat my little baby great-niece today- she's only six weeks old and looks like a feminine version of her daddy, who was my practice kid.:D

She's adorable, but I think the poor little thing has colic caused by her formula- her daddy, uncle and cousin Tori all had a milk intolerance and had to be switched to soy. I think her parents are afraid to switch her formula, so they are trying the Mylecon drops and such first, which are NOT working. She basically ate, screamed and slept all day; the little scooby was exhausted from crying and I felt so bad for her! I have her again tomorrow and I hope she has a better day. I really hate to see a little one having such a rough time. I'm glad I can watch her- I can't imagine putting her in a daycare, especially when she feels so rotten.

So, I'm looking at our road trip in November, wondering how concerned we should be about snow in the mountains (Northern CA, Southern OR). Anyone have any idea when it gets snowy and bad up there? It's not like we don't drive in snow up here all winter, but we're at a lower elevation than some of those passes we'll be coming through.

Mousey Girl 09-19-2006 01:21 PM

I had another sleepless night last night. After I got Nickolas off to school (I love that he no longer needs me to drive him) I decided to try to head to bedd to get some zzzs. I phone rang as soon as I started to doze off. No biggy, just Dawn. I told her I was trying to sleep so that got her off the phone pretty quick. She is calling me because I got word to her to stop calling David after I saw the cell bill and that he used 1447 minutes last month (we only have 850 between 3 phones-TG for Rollover).

No sooner was I head back into unconciousness than the phone rang again. By now it is 8:30. I have a job interview today at 2. It is for Builder's Showcase. Luckily I know the area I am going to because it is on a new street that hasn't been mapped yet.

Now, if only I get an offer or 2 I will be a verrrry happy camper!!

Poor Nickolas, I am leaving him a note on the back door. I expect my cell to blow up around 3:10 when he sees that I'm not home.

I would probably look into getting chains, if you don't already have them. With the way the weather has been acting I would be prepared for everything.

Where all are you going?

Prudence 09-19-2006 02:03 PM

so, the dust has settled and out of 17 applications I have 7 interviews over this week and next. (Three in a row tomorrow! Eeep!) I have no idea if that's a good showing or a poor showing or what, but it is what it is.

Brigitte 09-19-2006 02:03 PM

We're coming down to Disneyland for MouseAdventure. Our winters up here have gotten warmer over the last decade or so. I seem to remember a lot more snow when I moved over here than we get now.

Mousey Girl 09-19-2006 02:34 PM

Could be that you have gotten used to the snow so it doesn't seem as bad?

It is 98 out there. I thought we were only supposed to hit 90 today. *sigh*

I think the interview went ok, it is just so hard to tell.
Boy isn't home yet, so he will never know I wasn't here.

blueerica 09-19-2006 03:12 PM

We are going North from San Diego next week. I had thought we were going to imss any chance of snow....Ah, there has been snow where we are going!!!

So, we are taking the SUV which has 4WD and chains while the more economic {gas wise} car will sit at home.

That is something about traveling within California. You can be in a hot spot one day and the next need a jacket! So, packing is tricky.

Last summer we went to Yosemite which normally would have been a 90 degree plus visit....took very light clothes....it was chilly and raining!!! Luckily the Boy had a jacket because, as his mom, I always pack one for him. :D

So, I've learned to be prepared. The weather can change pretty quickly.

Have fun on YOUR trip, Brigitte!

Mousey Girl~Dang that is hot!

Brigitte 09-19-2006 05:23 PM

Hard to say but I don't think it's that I've gotten used to it, I'm thinking of measureable snowfall. The winter Maddie was born, we had up to 4 feet from like October to March. I remember the sides of my driveway! We haven't had snow like that in years, though we do get some snow. Usually we have the first snowfall by Halloween, though it doesn't stick around. We'll just plan to be prepared for anything (the truck has 4WD too) and hope for an easy drive!

2 more interviews this afternoon. 1 is through a temp agency so I know exactly what the company is looking for, the other is an office position with a furniture store. I am really sick of interviews and feeling majorly discouraged.

katiesue 09-21-2006 12:35 PM

Hang in there. Job hunting is the absoute worst.

Mousey Girl 09-21-2006 03:38 PM

This one was through the temp agency. After I got there I found out that I was an experiement. The Manager was trying to prove a point to the owner that if he wanted better quality candidates he had to pay more. She told me that I proved her point and she was going to go talk to him to get him to interview me.

Prudence 09-21-2006 09:49 PM

So I'm watching what is possibly the worst show ever to air on broadcast television: Celebrity Duets. Why? Because after the week I've had I need to watch someone else humiliate themselves, and that is certainly what's happening. Every time I think it can't possibly get worse - it does. It's just astounding.

MouseWife 09-21-2006 10:56 PM

We were all enjoying watching 'Deal or No Deal'. I don't know why but my son said 'Eh, I hope she opens a million'. He said 'Hey, it isn't us'. And I said 'Yeah, but it won't hurt us if she does win'. Geesh.

So it ended and I don't know how the woman did. I hope she does well. It isn't MY money. Give it away, give it away, give it away now!

On my musical note...washing the dishes to what is rockin' my a$$....Soundgardens' 'Badmotorfinger'. Ah, the beginning of 'Jesus Christ Pose' and 'Rusty Cage'. Grrr Grrrr Grrr

And it is eleven o'clock at night...maybe I should have played that around 5 p.m. when I was dragging?

blueerica 09-22-2006 08:50 AM

So, I think I'm just depressed today. Not sure if it's the cloudiness, or other aspects of my life... Normally, I find comfort on grey days, today, I just want to crawl back into my bed and hide. It's probably all the other stuff making this day different.

Many of my friends are going through rough times, and I guess I'm just affected. Maybe I just love my friends. :) *hugs*

blueerica 09-22-2006 08:59 AM

Haha... OK, my alarm just went off. I've been up for almost an hour. I still got mad at it and hit snooze...

I got a job!!!!! I start Monday! I am shaking!

It is with Walker Lewis Rents, through the temp agency. The woman I interviewed with yesterday was so impressed with me that I don't even have to do the 2nd interview with the owner! It is a temp-to-perm position, Monday thru Friday, 8:30-5:30 with rotating Saturdays.

Thank you all for being so supportive. I have been pretty down for the past couple of months. This whole thing has really been getting to me.

I am on my way to fill out papers and maybe a drug test. Nickolas reminded me that I told him if I got a job this week I would take him to Target to buy a special Yugioh pack.

Based upon my MySpace messages and friend requests, it appears several young women have recently moved to Long Beach who are interested in older men, or at least having them view their webcam - who knew being 44 could be such a turn on.

Well, we got Susan sister married off last night (well, yesterday).

She did an excellent job of planning and things went off without a hitch. She looked stunning as did her matron of honor (not that I am biased on the latter :) ). The church was beautiful and I actually enjoyed sitting through an entire Catholic Mass wedding (also: we were concerned that Susan might burst into flames when the priest gave her a blessing at the altar, but I am happy to report that she made it throughunscathed).

The reception was beautiful and everyone had a great time. Susan's other sister caught the bouquet and and her boyfriend (fiance - we're not sure if the previous proposal is counted since Dad said no when fiance asked for permission) caught the garter. I don't think Dad was pleased about that.

Now, a day of recovery.

Ghoulish Delight 09-24-2006 07:21 PM

Congrats to the bride and family!

In less happy news, Munchkin's been in a bad way today. This morning, I opened his cage and he didn't budge, just stayed in the back half asleep. A bit odd, but we did kinda keep him up late last night. But after a couple hours, it got worriesome, especially when he ignored fresh veggies. When we kinda hovered around his cage to encourage him to come out, he went and hid in the bathroom, shying away from any attempt to pet him. Even when at his most tired, he never refuses a good scrub. That's when I looked and saw that his litter box was suspiciously under-used. So while I went to Ikea, CP took Munch to the vet.

Hopefully this is just some hair blockage. He got an injection and some subcutaneous fluids. We gave him some hairball gook, and CP got him to have a nibble of food, which seemed encouraging. But nothing since. He's holed up in his favorite corner, ignoring food and water, and still not wanting to be pet. Definitely not himself. Hopefully a night of care will get him past this, if not, back to the vet tomorrow.

blueerica 09-24-2006 07:51 PM

Mousey Girl 09-25-2006 07:44 AM

Good to hear that you had a good time, Leo. I still don't think I will be attending mine. The wierd thing is the people who keep popping out of the woodwork and asking one of the organizers about me. The latest was a close friend who lives in Alaska. We were pretty tight until I got engaged. He had always though I would marry him and move to Alaska. He never understood that I didn't see him in that way.

I have 30 minutes until I leave for my first day of work. I haven't felt nervouse/excited until about 15 minutes ago. Now I am a bit of a wreck, but at least I look good!!

Cadaverous Pallor 09-25-2006 07:54 AM

Munchkin is well on the way to getting better. <happy dance of relief>

All of yesterday was horribly stressful, trying to get her to eat, drink, take some of the recommended pineapple juice. She didn't move much at all. It was worrisome. I knew if there was nothing in the litterbox and she still showed signs of fatigue in the morning, I'd have to zip her off to emergency again. Then it would be an IV and overnight stay. Yeech.

Woke up and we have a bouncy bunny again! Small poop in the box, eating a bit, giving kisses. I'm so damn relieved.

I avoided the stupid, overpriced, commoditized "Great Runions" prom-for-28-year-olds thing. Instead, a few of us who have kept in contact got word out to as many people as we could on our own and had a backyard bbq/swim party with about 20 people. Now THAT'S how to have a reunion.

We had a rabbit in our San Francisco apartment when our daughter was born. When she was 10 days old, her little cousins came over. Everyone was in full voice. We looked over at Zelda rabbit, and she was gasping for breath. Pneumonia. Stress-induced, supposedly. That was it. Well, $1,200 later and talk of nebulizers, that was it.

Could very well be. He was doing fine all week, but the night before this happened, he was stubbornly avoiding his cage at bed time so we had to be a little more insistent than usual. That may have been the last bit of stress that put him over the top.

I wish I could have gone to mine. It was this past weekend, and just between school/what-not... there's just no way I could afford the time off and the expense of flying out to the middle of nowhere and finding a bed and breakfast (the only kinds of places you can easily find near scenic otherwise emtpy-lands). Interestingly, the reunion wasn't expensive. Our class was smart.... we raised a crapton of money for our junior prom... took the rest, plus any other fundraising efforts, and just invested it smartly. Not to mention, things don't get too expensive, cost-of-living wise out where I was from in Michigan.

I take relief that I've remained in relatively good contact with those of my classmates I was friends with. We don't talk all the time, but it's enough, plus I've been able to see some of them. I will hopefully be able to go back to Michigan over the next couple of years.

katiesue 09-25-2006 03:57 PM

I organized my last reunion. I tried to keep costs to a minimum, I ended up charging $40/person. I just about broke even. It was fun. It really is hard to track people down, especially the women as many have married and have different last names. If you've got a fairly common name websearches come up with all kinds of useless info, although I did find a few people that way.

I also went to a fairly small school, there were only 184 people in my class so you did kind of know everyone, or mostly who everyone was. I think reunions are fun, but I can see how some people don't. I got a lot of positive feedback after. One guy said he wished more of his friends had come, but that he had a great time catching up with a lot of other people that he was maybe better friends with in lower grades and didn't hang out with in high school.

I also found that no one really cared if you were fatter, balder, richer, poorer. They were just happy to see you and catch up, talk about silly stuff that happened in 3rd grade. That was what it was really all about for me.

Prudence 09-25-2006 03:59 PM

I will probably never go to a high school reunion. I couldn't stand most of those people then, and from the looks of the photos posted after the last time, they haven't improved in any appreciable fashion. I'm still in contact with the people that were important to me - two local, one on some research ship off the CA coast, and one in Germany.

I moved away from where I grew up. So did other people. Life happened - work, marriage, kids, etc. You lose track. I kept in contact with a few. But the difference is emailing or talking to one person at a time vs. being with all the people I used to hang with. And they were all there (save one or two). Reminescing, looking at old photos (one of which I thought all copies had been destroyed of, and will certainly surface should I ever run for political office - I once went to a Halloween party as a flasher in a trenchcoat and g-string - you can imagine what the picture was). The time capsule, in which some friends (unbeknownst to me) had placed some items in with my name on them 20 flippin' years ago. And 100 other examples of great things.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I would not have missed it for the world.

Mousey Girl 09-25-2006 11:14 PM

I survived my first day of work. The only thing I forsee a problem with is just trying to remember all of the products we carry. Just because it is on the display floor or in the computer does not mean it is something that we have enough of to rent.

After work I was supposed to go to the Fair to see a free Smash Mouth concert. They cancelled last night due to illness. Instead I ended up seeing Pablo Cruise. They were wonderful!! 3 of the original members made for very good listening. One of the songs they sang they have never recorded. It is one they wrote when they were fed up with there kids. It was freaking hilarious! I could relate to the entire song (the title was something along the lines, "I am tired of you, you exhaust me."). The song got over and I realized I could hear the opening strains of AC/DC Thunderstruck. It was my cell going off. During that very approriate song Nickolas called my cell 22 times so that he could tell me goodnight.

Overall I had a great day!!!

RStar 09-25-2006 11:25 PM

So... I've been cleaning up my iTunes music database and was updating a compilation CD that had a bunch of great bands, like the Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Massive Attack, etc. when I noticed the CD was produced in 1997. Heck - it's almost ten years old, and I still think of these bands as "contemporary" now I'm feeling doubly-old. Gotta find some new music...

Last night I had the pleasure of calling 911 on the way home. BT picked me up after a night of revelry (it was a friend's birthday and 80s night at the local gay disco) and we were headed home on the freeway when we ended up behind this semi flatbed trailer thing. And it was drifting between lanes. Like it would slowly drift into the next lane, get more than halfway over, and suddenly correct. Repeatedly. Fortunately there wasn't much traffic. I dunno if they ever got stopped because we arrived at our exit, but at least I did my civic duty.

Here's another:

It's regardless, not irregardless. As in "Regardless of whether I pay or not...", not "Irregardless of wheather I pay or not..." I use to use it myself until someone told me the word isn't real. But then they said the same thing about "aint" and now it is a word.:D

Not a bad idea! I think I'll look up a few to give out. Like Watts or Fairbanks. That should get some attention in some office somewhere. I hate how they want all our personla info.

Ugh. It started pouring while I was driving home. I almost took my shoes off to walk from the car to the apartment, but stupidly, I thought it would be safer to leave them on.

I was wading through puddles that reached my ankles. The shoes I was wearing have nearly 2" heels. What's up with that?

They were in good shape (not fantastic shape, but still good). Only time will tell how they'll be when they dry.

Darnit. Those were my favorite shoes. And now my feet are cold.

MouseWife 10-08-2006 10:10 AM

Soooo, is it a good thing when radiator fluid is leaking out of the bottom of your vehicle like a waterfall? That means its working, right?

I love cars.

Prudence 10-09-2006 06:16 AM

We planted bulbs. Lots and lots of bulbs. Tulips, some weird things that produce stalks with orange berry-looking flowers, grape hyacinths which have some other technical name, "real" hyacinths, some big flowers that look a little like peonys that aren't, a giant allium, and probably some others I've forgotten. Oh, and saffron crocus - fall-blooming, so we planted late. Still need to plant a bunch of irises, more tulips, more grape hyacinths, spring-blooming crocus.

This does show that all is working well. To make sure that your car dries properly, you should immediately take the car out for a drive, going as fast as you can with the AC on full blast.

I would say that your radio is broken

Prudence 10-10-2006 10:32 PM

No, no stuck CD. Yes, we'd mastered the broken part. This is not nearly as entertaining as the time only one side of speakers died in my old Sentra. Can't remember which side, but it was which ever side had the main vocals for the White Album. In-car karaoke. It was cool for awhile.

Any ideas that might allow us to pinpoint the specific broken bits and perhaps not spend hundreds of dollars getting some widget tightened or loosened or whatever?

Does the static sound come from the back of the radio, or the speakers?
Does it do the same thing with the engine on or off?
Is it repeatable?
Will it do the same thing with a CD inserted?
Has there been any work done on the car recently?

wendybeth 10-10-2006 11:11 PM

Sooo....

Last week the kid had a wellness check and had to get several boosters, which was not fun but she handled it much better than she did when she was smaller. They also tried to give her a booster for a shot that she'd never had, based on the fact that kids with cochlear implants have to have this shot, which is cool, except she doesn't have an implant.

The PA wasn't happy- they very nearly gave her the shot, and it is a risky one only intended for special circumstances. Luckily I was able to prove that she is in fact implant-free.

So, monday she had an appointment with a podiatrist, for what we thought was a consultation. But, noooo.... they took one look at her ingrown toenails and decided to take 'em out. Many shots, much blood (she's a bleeder) and two big honking bandages later and she was able to hobble out of the office. I was really proud of her- it's really not a pleasant thing to go through, but she was a trooper. Cost me lunch at Sonic, a Halloween costume and no homework for two days, but she says her feet already feel a bunch better. Her cat keeps trying to attack the bandages, though.

It comes from the back of the car, so I'm guessing speakers.
Nothing happens with the engine off.
Repeats every time you attempt to turn the stereo on.
Yes.
Not really. New battery about a month ago, but that's it.

After this happens, does the radio appear to be acting normally? i.e can you change stations, you just don't get any sound out of the speakers?

Does your owner's manual mention an amplifier and its location? The amplifier takes the signal from the radio and amplifies it for the speakers. If the radio appears to be working but no sound, it could be that there is a problem with the amplifier. Sometimes the amplifier is located under the driver or passenger seat. If you have one, and it's located under a seat, check the connectors to make sure they are fully seated, and haven't been knocked loose.

I traded in the Mercedes (that I hated) for a used Volvo V70 wagon. No mid-life crisis here. I've now got a Mom car. ;) However, it is dark blue with tinted windows and tan leather interior. Glad to be in a Volvo again. It feels like home.

Framing posters suck. They're so big. That's why dry mounting them first is vital. (I know that I just set myself up for KevyBaby, but it's the truth.) :D

I am no pro framer {nor do I dry mount my posters, I use double sided tape} but I can say it is HARD. It is frustrating to put it together and then hang it and the picture is crooked. I have framed quite a few posters/collages and I know there must be an easier way.

Well. It doesn't help that kitty likes to play with my projects or if I find cat hair in the finished product.....

So. My chickie invited me and the boys to come up with her and her beau for Friday the 13th.

One son has to work and the other doesn't want to miss school. {whose kid is he anyways???? I'd take the day off for a cliffhanger soap....}

The next scheduled day is Halloween. The Boy doesn't want to miss that day either. WTH?

Today is my older sons birthday. I must go and pick up supplies. Regularly to feed just the guys in the house is a big job but now a bunch of young men? Better put the leaf in the table....

Oh. And...at work yesterday a woman/guest was having a bad day and I said to her and a co-worker sounds like a Disneyland ditch day to me! And they BOTH said what an awful idea.

What??? I said you have got to be kidding. She said that she had four kids and had been there enough. I told her that was the problem, ditch the kids and go alone. She said again, she'd had enough. I told her that if you go without your kids, you don't have all of that 'noise' that gives you the headaches {I wanna do this, I don't wanna do that, I want this, give me that, I hate that, I don't wanna use sunscreen} and it is wonderful.

*sigh* and you can look at all of the other people having problems with their kids and say 'whew, not me!' and the ones enjoying their kids and remember the good times with your own.

Must work on that Boy....

It looks like I Will be going to the Homecoming football game at the HS where I graduated. I only went to 1 game in the 2 years I was there, so this ought to be interesting. I am taking Nickolas with me so I won't feel too weirded out.

It is sort of raining here...not at my house, but other parts of town are experiencing flooding. There is lightning going on too, but even though I see the flashes, it is too far away to hear any thunder.

Gemini Cricket 10-13-2006 07:04 AM

Watch out for the lightning! It could be dangerous!
;)

I rained here this morning. That's good, because I needed to water the backyard and now I don't have to.

So I'm sitting at home waiting for the countertop installers to arrive, watching The Price is Right. I loved the looks of utter disappointment on all 4 contestants in contestants' row when they revealed the first item up for bids...

Spoiler:

$1795 for that beauty.

MouseWife 10-13-2006 10:45 AM

Yeah, sometimes they give away the most out there things. I guess to advertise? I mean, they are donated by the companies, right? I know I have seen a lot of stuff...what about those giant rocking horses? Or was that 'Let's Make A Deal'? I thought I'd seen them on TPIR, too, though.

But, I LOVE TPIR!! I have wanted to go forever. Now, though, I really don't know the prices.

My previous neighbor went on and played the game where you Bob {my pal} gives you 5 dollars and you have to guess the price of the car without giving up all of your dollars. He won.

I want to take my kids {2/3s old enough now...} but I need to think of a really good saying for t-shirts.

Anyone here ever go?

Ah Mr. Lewis, stick around awhile and you'll note this as one of Not Afraid's idiosyncrasies, one that underscores the prorn vernaculars preference for the contraction, "clit" - My guess is that where it spelled correctly, it wouldn't be being used correctly ;)

Cheers,

So, lots of Donner and Blitzen around our house (about a 10 second delay between the two), so we're going shut down the computers and hope the TV doesnt get hit.

Mousey Girl 10-13-2006 09:57 PM

It poured off and on here all day. Every downpour was preceeded by thunder and lightning. According to Nick we had a lightning strike very close to the house and caused a power surge that knocked out the power for "about five seconds." I came home and the cable was messed up. I told David to reboot the cable box. He didn't. I did just now and it seems to be back online.

the football game was fun. It was neat seeing the 2 people I most wanted to see. Then some punk ass kid threw gum and it ended up in my hair. That was enough for me. I was ready to head home. We talked aobut it and decided that these kids (and our old school) were a whole lot rougher and thuggier than we ever were. The whole area has gone so far down hill. It was like a different part of the world.

Nice one, GC...

Anyhow, my power frustratingly went out last night. Yes, frustratingly is the correct word... :( I'm driving down to south OC in a bit, and was so afraid that the power would go out in the middle of the night, I set my cell phone's alarm and slept with one eye open. I hope I don't spend the day sleepy as hell.

Not Afraid 10-14-2006 09:04 AM

We were awakend at 4 am by the LOUDEST downpour I've heard in ages. I actually got out of bed and looked to see if it was hail, but it was just heavy rain. Poor kitten and big kitten (Charles) were scared by the noise. We crawled back in bed and snuggled until it stopped and we could go back to sleep. It was lovely.

MouseWife 10-14-2006 09:35 AM

Ooo, forgot about power outages. We have been lucky. Was it from the storm or an accident caused by the storm?

I hadn't realized it had started to rain but then I heard it {because it started to rain harder} and it was very nice indeed.

I told my son and he was 'Rain? Really?' and I didn't realize it but at 10 p.m.'ish he went outside in his pj's to stand in the rain. I realized it when he came in dripping wet and grinning.

I guess it's been too long?

It's now that annoying part of the fall where it's not cold enough to turn on the heat yet, but it's still cold. Grrr.

Scrooge McSam 10-15-2006 04:39 PM

Sooo...

The new HVAC system is up and running. The old unit that once occupied a closet encroaching on the largest bathrom has been replaced with a new unit hanging from the roof peak in the attic. It's sooooo quiet! The whoosh of air blowing through the vents is louder than the noise from the unit. No more standing pilot light for the furnace, which means much less fuel waste. I have a programmable thermostat again - more savings. Next to go will be the water heater tank, to be replaced with a tankless unit in the attic. I need to go find that thread where this was discussed earlier.

I can't wait to redo the bathrooms with all the new available space. I'm kinda partial to this collection. Time to start the folder to keep all those ideas together.

Years ago (who am I kidding - DECADES!), I used to joke with friends that college had a way of "dollaring you to death". Home ownership has a way of "thousand dollaring you to death". (Can I get a witness, GD and CP??)

Cadaverous Pallor 10-15-2006 05:07 PM

Speaking of high budgets - we finally looked at prices on fabric today. We had already done plenty of looking and thinking for curtains in various rooms....but that's all out the window as we realized the designer fabrics we had been casually browsing cost around $65 a yard. Um, yeah. Our tastes are pricey these days...

CoasterMatt 10-15-2006 05:15 PM

Well, I know it's a bit of a drive for you guys, but there's a great "Off The Bolt" fabric store down the street from us - I got the fabric for our drapes there...

Motorboat Cruiser 10-16-2006 12:44 AM

Soooo...

Matthew and I went to the park today. It was our first opportunity in about a month and the last time we visited, the park was practically a ghost town. We were not as fortunate today. The place was absolutely packed! I can only assume that it is because of Haunted Mansion Holiday being open.

Still, the weather was mild and overcast, without being chilly, and it was nice to just walk around. We didn't ride anything and we didn't spend a dime. We just checked out the halloween decorations, which were much more prevelant this year, and also a new act in NOS, featuring a female vocalist who was quite good and a band comprised of quite a few members from the former Bayou Brass Band. We also checked out the new store in DTD, the vault 28 or whatever the hell it is called. Yawn. Not impressed.

Kevy Baby 10-16-2006 09:50 AM

Important lesson for the day: Never use your windshield washer while driving with your sunroof open.

Not Afraid 10-16-2006 12:04 PM

Hmmmm, should I spend the next 5 hours doing laundry, work and house cleaning or should I read the rest of "The End"?

Ghoulish Delight 10-16-2006 04:35 PM

Dude. Thinking I was in trouble for having to skip out on a meeting last Friday due to the countertop installation fiasco, I was just called into my VP's office. Instead, as a thank you for being part of a large effort over the last year that's turned out quite well for the company, he handed me a brand new 4GB iPod Nano.

Well, sort of. He handed most of them out to the people who made it to the meeting last week, but one of them was busted. So, since I've already got an iPod, I volunteered to be the one to wait for a replacement. But I've got an i.o.u for a 4GB iPod Nano.

Anyone want a green 4GB iPod Mini with a real good quality sleeve? It's in great shape, tested by 2 swankers, and going cheap (I'm keeping the swanky tiki coasters that Snowflake included when she sold it to me, though ;) ). Hmm, guess I'd better dig through boxes and find all the cables.

Nickolas and I just spent over an hour and a half at a pumpkin patch. One of my new co-workers works out there at night. She and her sister were running the big bounce house type slides. I spent 3 dollars on 4 tickets for the slides and came home with 12 tickets. Their brother was driving a tractor around and we ended up with 2 trips on it. We had so much fun! I just hope that they don't get into trouble with their boss for us being there so long. We did end up buying 2 large, over priced pumpkins. I don't care about the carving, I just want the seeds.
