From a logical standpoint, they serve no purpose not covered by the Forever stamp. If you want to have different versions (different artwork), you can do so without putting a denomination on them.

Yesterday was a really slow day at work, today I got extended 2 hours.

I needed stamps. I got tired of going to the post office whenever I needed to mail something. So I bought 1 book of forever stamps. It made more sense then buying a book of stamps and then more 2 cent stamps. I think the last time I knew how much stamps cost I was working at Longs.

This is what i got - surgery for GG, baby brother for Nick, cupcakes for Ally, madness at Target and Vons, Ducks who quack and throw octopus, going postal forever, new issue of Amish Vogue. Did I get it all? I won't be back until tomorrow evening. Keep being amusing,folks. ;)

I was going to point out that you forgot to mention me, my aching feet (from working too damn much the past two days) and my insomnia. Oh, and it's fifty-thousand degrees in our house right now because no one turned on the air today and now it's too late because it takes hours to cool this behemoth of a house down. Then, I remembered that I'd forgotten to post that.

aaaaarggghhh! I ended up falling asleep way too early last night.. and now I woke up wide awake feeling way rested. Its the middle of the night. what am i going to do?
