Short version:
I bought an item that had a rebate. (I know, I know...) The item didn't work. I returned it for replacement. They confirmed receipt of the return, and then lost it within their own facility. And it's that week it was lost in their facility that is the reason I won't be able to send the rebate in on time. (I should get the replacement the day after the rebate deadline.)
I wouldn't necessarily fault them if it didn't work and they replaced it promptly and still it was too late - but for them to lose it and refuse to do anything to remedy what it will cost me (credit me the rebate amount on a future order, express mail me a replacement so I get it in time, agree to take a return on a non-returnable item, etc...) really bastes my brisket.
