The monitor connection from my manager's laptop to the overhead projector is a little loose. His projected desktop has a greenish-bluish hue that feels very familiar...

since this old building I work in has zero AC, in the summer I do that quite often. no one could care less...which is one of the things I love about the place. it may be hot, old, ant and other vermin infested.... but I can dress like I want and no one cares.

I would LOVE to wear jeans to work. What sucks is that other departments get to on Friday, another one makes an exception for certain Fridays when muckity mucks aren't in town, while mine poo-poos the practice - though I'm sure I could get away with it if I was the only one around, but that's a rarity I don't count on happening any time during my tenure. I have worn khakis on one of those "muckity mucks gone" Fridays, but got weird looks from my department. We do wear khakis for days when we know they'll be destroyed, but no doubt at least one member of the team will forget and wear his or her "nice" clothes, only to get a tear, stain, and/or dirt everywhere.

Blah.

I have cute "dressy" jeans I'd love to wear on a Friday.

After a three year hiatus (due to scoliosis), we signed ToriBear up for dance classes again at her old school. She'll be taking Jazz/Hip Hop, and she is one happy girl.:)

I forgot to give GD props for the picture. It is absolutely the funniest thing of the day for me...

The different departments doing their own thing when it comes to stuff like that is annoying. The other thing that is annoying is when no official order comes down to close the office early on holiday weekends and different departments let their people leave early, while others make them stay the full 8 hours. Usually the later is due to the manager being out of the office on that Friday.

Yay for Tori the Dancing Bear! Jazz is really fun, though Hip Hop is not my favorite. Probably just because I'm not good at it, and I am old school. Tap is really fun too, but ballet is my favorite of all. There is no bad dancing. No matter what the Reverend Falwell says.

The last class she took was Jazz/Hip Hop, and it's really just an updated version of Jazz. She'll have the same teacher, which I'm thrilled about as she was really good to Tori and is a great dancer herself. (Even if she is dancing her way to hell....;) ).

Tori needs a crash course in Bob Fosse. I think she should come live with me for a week so we can watch all of the movies he choreographed.
