Cute! I hear the maintenance plans on those are excellent!

We spent an extra month or two when we bought our last car just so that I could get a manual trans. I had to give in on the color, but I got the right car otherwise.

I am thinking of getting a Mini, but not a manual. Hope you enjoy it!

I love manual transmissions. I get really bored driving automatics- not to mention it's problematic when I try to use the clutch. I have to tuck my left leg under my right when I am driving Eric's car, as I've accidentally slammed on the brakes more times than I care to admit. Congrats, Lisa!!!!!!:)

So, I'm sure most of you heard about the power outage in San Diego and surrounding areas today. It started at about 3:40. Which was when I was just about to get off the freeway in Escondido for a press check. Which is kinda hard to do without power.

I'll be driving to Escondido again tomorrow morning. :sigh:

I've driven enough different cars that I usually remember what I'm driving at the moment, only had once or twice when I've tried to clutch an automatic. Really confusing when that happens, though, isn't it? Took me a second to figure out what was wrong.

I get bored with an automatic, too. Much prefer my 5-speed.

You should have come over - we're just two exits south on the 15 in Rancho Bernardo.

We actually had a nice evening. I've got all sorts of camping gear so we had dinner, played cards etc. My only worry was keeping the insulin stockpile cold but we seemed to manage that fine. Now I need to try and figure out how I'd do it should the power be off longer. Do they have battery operated mini fridges?

Apparently, they do.

Though it may be simpler (and cheaper) to get a regular mini fridge and a small generator. Or just a buy a 3K - 5K generator which would power your regular refrigerator and other essential items
