I just called my parents' house in the Valley. No one home, but the answering machine picked up, so I guess that means they've got power there.

Damn... why didn't the power go out in Orange County so I could go home?

And, what's this about an earthquake?

We were driving around the Valley, trying to find a place that would take cash in exchange for food, and we finally ended up at this little dive-y sandwich place next to a bar. We got two tuna sandwiches and two waters for $12 (ow!!!) and watched as patrons began to stream into the bar :eek:

Wow.

I am just checking in, making sure none of my swanky friends were affected.
