Yep. The town and island are simply called Amity, no Point.

And the locale was meant to be an island off the south shore of Long Island, but was named after the slightly inland Long Island town of Amityville.

Amnityviller is a HORRORible place.

Is that the same Amityville from The Amityville Horror?
