A little company promotion...

I'm very happy to be involved with this project, and to help with the film's marketing. Read the script (I love James Gunn...love, love, LOVE! - authored The Toy Collector), saw the screening, and was thereafter determined to see this horror gem do well.

Anyway, we all worked on the site's concept, and one of our freelancer's worked out the design and flash.

I'm not just writing to plug our work (I work for fellow LoT buddy, Boss Radio) or the film itself (though, fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity may be pleased to know the film stars Nathan Fillion), but also the competition we developed in conjunction with the movie: Slug It Out.

It's a design your own TV spot for Slither competition, and the grand prize is $25,000. Some of you with editing know-how may be interested in putting something together, so be sure to check out the competition info - it's linked from the splash page. I know a lot o' creative/talented people who could really use the cash-o-lah, so I wish you the best of luck if you choose to participate.

Heidi and Tom!!! $25,000. If Tom the Editor wins, it's a little extra cash for making movies, yo!

I know. That part totally cracks me up.

Be sure your spot doesn't include...ANYTHING!

I think all TV spots should puppy sodomy and 8 year olds committing political assassinations. This is the U.S., afterall.

I guess that stuff is for the theater based red-band trailers. Trailers that are Rated R. Good grief. I remember one of the first R-rated trailers I saw was for Child's Play 2, where Chucky says, "Don't **** with the Chuck."

The TV spots had to edit out a lot of blood, even. The giant balloon of a woman has blood all over her face in the theatrical trailers, but in the TV spots it looks like she's got some green gunk around her mouth.

I'm going to make a spot about a beige polka dotted snake who lives in Irvine.

That couldn't be offensive to ANYONE, could it?

A SNAKE??? Are you KIDDING????!!!

You're right--slugs don't slither, they glide.

Is it safe to assume that any media included in the assets folder are okay to use? There are a few shots of a highly mutated man with tentacles and a very screwed up face. Would this violate the ban on "mutations?" (number 13 on the list of don'ts) Anyway, I downloaded the media files and I'm having a blast looking through them.

Aaaaah! We're so on it. White on rice.

I wouldn't use that one if I were you.
