Mystery Science Theater 3000 Swayze Style

I mostly caught bits of Mystery Science Theater when my big bro was watching it, but I heard a cool segment on the radio the other day with writer/commentator Michael J. Nelson. MST3K movie selections were always limited to B-movies because of copyright laws. Now, they have found a way to bypass that problem with home DVD rentals. Guilty pleasure titles like Point Break, Cocktail and Crossroads now have downloadable commentaries. You rent the DVD (or pull it out of the super secret hiding place behind your porn), download, for a fee, the commentary track from RiffTrax.com, follow the cues for exactly when to start your DVD, and voila! More cheesy movies to watch with Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy.

Enjoy!

Listen to young Babette, he or she speaks the truth! Clever Nelson has carved himself a nice little niche of late. I like the stuff he does with Legend Video as well. Funny. Original. Igniminious.

The preview of "Star Trek 5" is pretty darn funny. :)

Thanks for the link!

I have to admit, I like the MST3K, and that Star Trek was pretty funny also. Some remarks are stupid, but some can hit you pretty hard funny!

I needed to do some massive thread necromancy and give this my official thumbs up. RiffTrax is fantastic and easy to use. We tried it with Transformers the other night and laughed our arses off. We picked up a couple more that we'll probably get to over this weekend.

Okay. I would have thought as much. Heh.

But I can see the concern since GD is usually very behind the times in terms of technology.
