April 8 Ticket Day for Disney Gallery 50-Hour Event

So, word is that the Disney Gallery website, begining this coming Friday, April 8, 2005, will be offering for sale tickets to some kind of 50-hour event to take place from July 15 through 17.

Is this the eagerly anticipated 50-Hour party? Or is it a merchandise event where, for a mere eight grand, you can have the right to purchase oodles of crap after eight behind-the-scenes meals inside various attractions?

Does anyone have any advance information on what this offering will be?

If it IS the 50-hour party, how much is a fair price to pay, in your opinion?

My fantasy: $50 (in keeping with the whole anniversary thing)

I guess it all depends on what the "event" turns out to be. If they're locking the gates to all but hard ticket holders at a certain point on the weekend, I fear I'm going to pay whatever they ask. If we're sitting across the street from DL and some exclusive party is going on in the park, I'll be jealous and sad.

I'm prepared to open my wallet to the Mouse. I hope it's worth it.

If they have it, I will spend

Haven't heard a thing about it but I'd pass. Probably out of my spending league. :(

They have started offering (for a price, of course) special merchandise add-ons with the WDT packages.....what, is the whole anniversary just going to be one big, blatant merchandising event? When is the last time anyone went to a birthday party and discovered it was an Amway event in disguise?

Yeah, but being the curious sheep that I am, I'd probably buy into it. (If the cost wasn't too prohibitive).

Info's up.

And we're going for........ (drumroll).......... nothing!
We got our hotel rezzies, our APs... we'll see you all there.
But we won't be dining on The Mark Twain or any of the "value added" crap.
These might be nice: ·
Reserved Seating at the “My Favorite Magical Memories”
Panel Discussion
Opportunity to attend a portion of the 2005 Disney Legend Induction Experience

but NOTHING is worth the ridiculous prices...

So sad. So very, very sad.

At least we have merchandise.

Anyone want to join me in recreating the Yippie take-over of Tom Sawyer Island as a tribute to the 50th?
