Finally! I've got ressies for Club 33!

Yes! Here's how it went....

My lovely daughter went to her first Holloween party. The next day I text her "How did it go?" she said "fine, didn't stay long, though. Had to leave to go to Club 33. Have you been?" I was like "WHAT!!!??? How did you do that?? I've been trying for 20 years to get in!!"

Turns out her boyfriend has a friend who's work has a corporate membership. My mom and I have always wanted to go. So DD set it up and gave my mom and I the gift for Christmas. We will be going with her and her boyfriend along with the friend who has the membership. So, getting to go with my daughter and her boyfriend will be a cool treat as well! So, I'll be there Jan 16th! Yay!!:D :D :D :D

Awesome!!

Gn2Dlnd 12-25-2009 09:16 PM

Turns out I'm available that night!

Deebs 12-25-2009 10:50 PM

Ahhhh, congratulations!

wolfy999 12-26-2009 07:31 AM

Have a wonderful time....It's the ultimate dining experience for a true Disney fan!

RStar 12-26-2009 10:25 AM

Thank you! I have heard the food is not the best, but it's the experience I'm after! Just to be in that room, to be able to ring that bell and walk through that door, that's what it's all about...

Oh, and it's paid for! No cost for food for me, so I won't be dissapointed in any way!

Now I'll be able to scratch that of my DL bucket list. Two more to go...

1) Walt's appartment over the fire station, and

2) The Lilly Belle.

Then my DL experience will be complete!

Actually, if I can arrange the Lilly Belle for that day to treat the friend that's treating us to Club 33, that would be great. I'll have to start working on that. Then I could cross two off my list at one time! And what a perfect ending to a perfect trip it would be? I wonder what the chance of that happening could be??

Cadaverous Pallor 12-26-2009 11:36 AM

Don't forget to get pics of yourselves on the balcony.

Gemini Cricket 12-26-2009 12:33 PM

You'll love it.
Have fun and take a lot of pics. They let you take pics inside, too.
:)

RStar 12-26-2009 02:55 PM

Oh, yeah, I'll be taking lots of pics....

:D

Chernabog 12-26-2009 04:27 PM

And the times I have been the food was actually really really good :)

Times? As in plural? <sob> Oh, the dues I've paid to get in that place, but, alas, not yet. :(

CoasterMatt 12-26-2009 09:09 PM

Club 33's food is still great, it's that Bayou place that seems to be getting worse.

BarTopDancer 12-26-2009 09:31 PM

I've been once, and the food was good. I didn't go in expecting gourmet and I was not disappointed. We had a buffet and I heard the sit down menu is a lot better. If you go in expecting "standard Disneyland fare" you will be impressed by the quality ;)

Gemini Cricket 12-26-2009 10:24 PM

The food was great when I went.
I had the steak I think.
But I tasted the lamb too and it was good.
They have shrimp there too at the buffet.
Dessert was great.
:)

Gn2Dlnd 12-26-2009 10:54 PM

Where'd you hear the food wasn't good? My two trips, once for brunch, once for dinner, were both wonderful. Dress up, expect fantastic food and service, take lots of pictures, and have a wonderful time!

(I had venison and baked Alaska!)

I'm going for lunch so I think it will likely be the buffett. My aunt and her girlfriend went for the buffett and while not bad, was just ok. I think people go in expecting Napa Rose and get Goofy's kitchen and are dissapointed. So I'm going in for the experience more than the food, that's all. I expect it will be good, just not Napa Rose (which was the best food I ever ate).

And for all these years, I thought it was the Hoky Pokey.

I'm sure you will have a great time. :snap:

Alex 12-27-2009 07:48 AM

The food is fine, especially if you don't regularly eat at high end restaurants and so the level of food and service is a unique experience itself. However, the food is nowhere near as good as the price they're charging for the food. So, as long as you're fine with paying for the experience more than the food, it's great. Definitely worth going at least once to experience it.

I've been twice (dinner both) and was fine with the food. The service wasn't everything that it was hyped as. I certainly wouldn't turn down an invitation if it fell into my lap but I'm not going to go out of my way to get one at this point.

Congratulations on getting to go. Hope it is as great for you as you hope it will be. It is definitely a feather in the cap of the park fan.

Kevy Baby 12-27-2009 10:35 AM

The last time we went (I've been twice), we had an extra special experience because Susan's and then boyfriend (later, husband and soon to be ex-husband - sigh) were working there. He made extra special meals for us of surf and turf (not on the menu).

I know she still works there but he doesn't

Since it was a gift, food and all, and not costing me a dime, I will not be dissapointed in any way. I'm sure it will be a life long memeory. Thanks, Alex!

I had a friend that was a chef there. He now works at Story Tellers. And he couldn't get me in for my birthday! I tell you, it just hasn't worked out for me untill now!

cirquelover 12-27-2009 02:31 PM

Congratulations! That is so cool and I envy you greatly. Have a wonderful lunch and enjoy the experience to the fullest!

alphabassettgrrl 12-27-2009 04:49 PM

I'm envious of you, too! Enjoy it and I hope to see pictures and get a report!

flippyshark 12-27-2009 05:08 PM

Yes, pictures by all means!

Yeah; sister can't get us in any more.

RStar 12-27-2009 09:03 PM

I'm telling ya, it's tough! It's become so popular that they even closed to waiting list to get a membership.......

I just can't believe she got us in! My little girl! Dang!!!

mousepod 12-30-2009 08:59 AM

You'll have a blast. Real fans of Walt know what a special place it is. And when the meal is done, ask the server if you can have a pen.

Prudence 12-31-2009 08:26 AM

As super jealous as I am, I still hope you have a great time!

RStar 01-01-2010 12:25 AM

Thanks Pru, I know the feeling! I felt the same way all of these years!

And you can bet I'll be trying to get as many souvineers as possible, MP!

blueerica 01-01-2010 09:22 AM

I've been to Club 33 twice; however, it wasn't for brunch, lunch, or dinner. I was in the kitchens with my grandma, and I went up there between services.

<sigh>

One of these days.

wolfy999 01-01-2010 09:28 AM

When I went didn't even know you could buy souveniers, so I brought home the swizzle sticks from our drinks. Love those swizzle sticks!

Oh, of course! The free ones are just as good- napkins, after dinner chocolates, swizzle sticks, ball point pen if you can get one, ect.

cirquelover 01-02-2010 01:10 PM

I was looking on ebay for a new keychain last night and came across a Club 33 one. They wanted almost $50 but it came with free napkins! I don't think I'll be geting one of those. I just wanted an different key chain.

~MS~ 01-02-2010 01:51 PM

Paper guest towels in the bathroom, cocktail napkins have the club logo, guest can buy almost everything available in the cabinet except for member only exclusives and the one time I got to go there were only 2 things we couldn't purchase. I have Club 33 ears but they wouldn't put our names on them at the mad hatter because they couldn't replace them if they messed up.

RStar 01-10-2010 09:30 PM

Oh, BTW- I got the date wrong on the first post... it's the 24th. My Father-in-law is visiting the 16th.

Just so you won't wonder why I hadn't given an update after the big day, when it wasn't. ;)
