As your journey begins, keep your hands and arms inquisitively all over the place and take as many flash pictures as you like. Mom and Dad - Treasure every minute. <major hugs>

We JUST got back home from celebrating John's mother's birthday at Macaroni Grill. On the way home, we were listening to BBC on the radio and they were talking about the Tasmanian Devil being in jeopardy of extinction. John was the first to check to see if TAS had been born yet and while I was waiting for my computer to come up, I thought, "Hhhhmm..... TAS. If he ever misbehaved, Jen could call him her little Tasmanian Devil." Then I read your comment. What are the odds that we would've JUST listened to a program about them?! Congratulations to Jen and Greg! |
Quote:
First of all, congratulations to the new parents. May all your days of parenting be as happy as this one, an if not, then may this one be good enough to get you through the first "I hate you and you don't understand me." Second, and in honor of the good statistical education I'm sure Theo will eventually get: The odds that you'd have just listened to a radio show on Tasmanian devils is relatively low. The odds that someone on this board would have recently had interaction with something that would have seemed relevant to a separate mention of Tasmanian devils and therefore seem noteworthy at this moment would be much higher. |
Happy birthday little Theo! I'm so proud of you guys!
|
You guys never arrive on time because you always arrive early. I should have expected no less of your beautiful Theo. I'm looking forward to congratulating you in person and greeting the little mister for the first time. He's gorgeous and not old man turnip-like at all! So, so happy for you.
|
I am beyond happy for you all! May your family be blessed with good health and joy! Lots of love to you! :)
|
What wonderful news! Congratulations Jennie and Greg and welcome baby Theo-
|
Congratulations! It's going to be hard to pull the "youngsters on the LoT" gag now that you're parents. Whippersnappers.
|
I'm so happy for you both! I saw the pix on Facebook. Total WIN :) He's adorable! I can't wait to meet him!!!
|
Total WIN - that's a good way to put it. :D
Bigger post later - posting from my phone with a baby on my chest. Love you all. Your well wishes, here and elsewhere on the web, brought us joy throughout the day. We're all doing great. :) |
Congratulations you guys. It's amazing isn't it? In a split second, you would be willing to jump in front of a moving car to save them without a second thought.
I'm so glad that you are all healthy. :) Love to see his cute little photo. |
I've been home since around midnight, taking a necessary break to feed and love some rabbits as well as take care of a couple important things we thought we'd have a little more time for (install a car seat for example)
oh yeah, and get some sleep. I miss Theo and Mom like crazy, but only during these brief moments of consciousness so I'm managing. for those who haven't seen them elsewhere: http://flickr.com/photos/66141390@N00/4261610557/ |
Welcome, Theo! Slip me the grip there, son! Good job!
Congratulations to all! |
Hello, Theo.
|
The guy talking on tv during the Jets/Bengals playoff game I was watching while GD was having a baby said that it was Chad
|
Mazel Tov, you two! I often find myself wishing I was closer to this group, and rarely as much as right now.
|
we can only hope that should Theo turn out batsh!t insane it's of the Ochocinco entertaining (and marketable for millions) variety.
I am back at the hospital where I was greeted with the happy news that Theo has made the vital discovery that boobs are good! He had a good feeding and has been asleep for the last 3 hours. it can't be overstated how much we appreciate everyone's comments, love, and support yesterday. Theo's got himself some great friends already. |

I'm so proud! |
YAY! You maked a babay! Congrats you gruesome twosome, I can't wait to meet little Mr. Theo! He's adorable!

It seems Theo got a good dose of Daddy genes. Boobs=good.
|
Beautiful, beautiful boy!
|
Stopped by for a much hoped for update and was not disappointed! WTNurse Theo! Can't wait to see more photos of him, he is beautiful.
|
Alright! Great news! I have been down with a cold, so didn't log in at all yesterday. See what you miss in just one day?
Thanks for posting the picture, GD! A wonderful shot! Congrats you guys! And welcome Theo! |

There was mention of the baby timing things to interrupt NFL playoff watching.
In compensation, he seems to have arranged to make sure that none of the games are particularly worth watching. |

Snowflake sent us an adorable set of mouse ears before Theo was Theo. They were so tiny and adorable.
That was before we knew the meaning of tiny and adorable: Spoiler:
But sizes be damned, Theo loved it and latched on with the death grip when I tried to take it away: Spoiler:
Everyone is right, you have to cherish those precious early moments, because they grow up so fast, and right before your eye: Spoiler:
|
He's so precious! I can't wait to meet him!
|
He's BEAUTIFUL and absolutely perfect!
Feast your eyes on this unedited set of 44 photos. A couple of favorites: ![]() ![]() |
Oh, and of course a LoT baby born on the Lotaversary MUST wear a LoT Onesie.
![]() |
You know it JUST now occurred to me that CP undercut our LoTSwag sales by making the onsie herself :p
|
Considering there is no mark-up on LoT swag, I think it's ok.
|
I realized I didn't get any pictures of Jesse holding Theo. :( (And Mrs. MP and NM didn't hold him.)
|
Aww, such beautiful news to find.
Congratulations, you two! |
Aw, such great pics NA. CP & GD looks so happy and Theo is freaking adorable.

Awwwwwwwwwwww, he'll grow into and out of them before you know it. |

I missed it! Oh well, happy day! Congratulations guys! What a great way to start the new year!
Woooo hoooooo!!!!! |
Congratulations!
|
He's gorgeous. I think I definitely see Greg in his face.
|
Kinda funny how eight LoTers all showed up almost at the same time and crowd the room :D
|
But did they stand around and block the bathroom?
|
Of course! The room wasn't that big.
|
hipy papy bthuthdth thuthda bthuthdy to Theo
Sorry we're late to the party !!
Mazel Tov!, and Congratulations!!, and a Very Merry Unbirthday to Theo. Glad to hear all are doing well. :snap: BTW, I noticed but didn't read this thread yesterday because I thought it was a "My friend's joined the LoT" type thread. |
awwww that is one perfect little bundle of adorable!
|
|
11 LoTers in a room, and no boat to sink!
(NA - I think you have no pictures of me because you were intimidated by the magnificence of my moustache.) It was so great to meet the little guy. And even better, it was wonderful to see our pals CP and GD basking in the new glow of parenthood. They look amazing. So damn swanky. |
Great pics!
Baby Theo is soooo cute. Lots of hair! :) |
So, will the happy parents be accepting visitors tomorrow as well, or will you be headed home tomorrow?

We've been offline all weekend but following on Twitter & Facebook. Congratulations and welcome to baby Theo!
|
Yes, we're going home today. Don't know when. Kickout time is technically 11AM, but that's not a hard and fast rule here. We're hoping to dawdle long enough that we can stick around for a 5:00 breast feeding clinic (he's getting the hang of it, better every time, but the more help we can get while we're here the better).
He's been on a pretty regular schedule. Wake up and work on feeding for an hour or so, change a diaper, then back to sleep for 3 hours. This morning's brought the new development that after feeding he spends some time awake, alert, and looking around instead of just passing back out. Late last night, he took a two hour nap on my chest, I swear I'm tearing up just thinking about it. It's indescribable. Mom's pretending to be a real human being for a moment and has left the room to take a walk around the hospital. Now we begin the scramble to get what we can in order before heading home where the real fun begins! |
Man, I picked a poor weekend to not check into LoT.
Congratulations you |

I remember being the safest and most cautious driver in the world when we brought our newborn home.
|
I think my mom let me help drive (while sitting on her lap, of course, she wasn't crazy or anything) when she brought me home.
Anything less will be evidence that GD & CP have fallen emotional captive to the fear-mongering Parent-Industrial Complex. |

It was instand love to a degree I was not prepared for, nor did I really understand even existed. It game me new appreication for my own parents too. I'm so happy for you guys. :) :) :) |
Congrats you guys!! I've been offline for a few days and WONDERING what happend - VERY happy for you!!

I am so loving all these pictures! What a beautiful little boy. I'm so happy for you guys! It really brings back a lot of memories, and reminds me of how quickly time has passed. It's hard to believe that some day that cute little bundle of joy is going to be rolling his eyes at you and telling you what dorks you are.......:D
|
That happened to me right before I went to bed last night, WB.
I'm a little slow on the draw here, but a huge congratulations to you. Parenting is wondering and terrifying all at the same time, but I have no doubt you two will excel at it. |
Cuddling a newborn to your chest...so easy a caveman can do it.
|
Lovely pics.
So happy for the three of you. :) |
I'm sorry I missed all the excitement! Awww he is a beautiful bundle of joy, thanks for sharing the pics, he has soo much hair! Congratulations!

What do the bunnies think?

Congratulations! Welcome to the universe, Sloan-spawn. I have concluded my annual winter germ fest and am now eligible for baby visiting. Is there a wiki page for that yet? :p |

There's video. Doubt we'll post it, but I kept the lens aimed at the doc's head the whole time until Theo appears, didn't capture anything graphic. Unless you consider a slightly goopey newborn graphic.
I am proud of the moment the dr. commented, "He's the calmest dad I've ever seen." I had no idea how I'd handle the whole thing, but "Fascinated to the point of wanting to see (and succeeding) the whole shebang without flinching" was pretty close to dead last on my list of guesses. |
GD has much to be proud of. I would have been a mess without him there to help me along. Any time he left the room and a contraction came on I felt like a panicked prey animal. Everything he did was right, and he never flinched, which gave me the confidence to face all of my own flinching with bravery.
Such love in this household. :) |
-and that's the way it is supposed to be. Awesome...and Theo is SO cute!
|
So, if Theo inherited certain, um 'assets' from his father, the Bris today should be classified as major surgery
|
|
He spent a little more time playing this evening. We put a second toy within reach and he started swinging at both of them, with either hand (Right hand elephant! left hand rabbit! Baby twister!).
|
Awwwwwww that video is too cute!!!! Now that work has slowed down a little I will have to make a date to see little T-bone in person :)
|
Too cute! I like the toy stripper pole set up!
|
What a handsome angel!

All of that tongue action going on....reminds me of when kids play and they stick their tongues out to help, what, help? LOL Or, he is mimicking you talking. They say they do that, imitate our expressions. Hmm. If you say 'Theo', your tongue does come to the front. Aw....such a smart boy!!! I know I don't see anyone much i.e. never BUT I would love to meet Theo. Oh yeah, and see you guys again. :D Is there a sign up list? :) |
He's pretty darned sweet. You guys did good. :)
|
He's so beautiful! And smart too! :)
|
Awwww, look at the little guy! He's amazing and so are his parents!
|
New videos, including cuteness of all kinds.
|
Cute indeed!
|
I love the 1984 Olympic shirt in a video recorded by a mini cam corder and posted on the internet.
|
Love all the clips!!! He is so adorable he makes the grammy gene stand up and scream LOL
|
lol! I swear, every time I start wondering to myself what little Theo is looking like these days (babies change so fast!) you post an update. What a cutie.:)
|
Very cute. And some of the commentary to the first video is also enjoyable with one's eyes closed.
|
Awwww! I remember baby bath time. I also remember that being the one time I was afraid being a new parent. The first bath was scary but after that I was good to go. I love the cup, baby's first shower.
Thanks for sharing him with us! |
