Walking In a Winter Wonderland (photo heavy)

We had another snow storm last night. This time it was the heavy snow that's good for making snowballs, as opposed to the Snowmegeddon's light fluffy powder.

It was incredibly picturesque this morning:

Casa De Moonie in the snow

Views from my morning walk....

It's been a very snowy year and more is on the way. We are looking at another coastal snow storm coming in Friday with predictions of over a foot. I may have to re-activate the SNOWMEGEDDON cam.

Ive never lived in snow and never really been around that much. it always amazes me how photos of it always look like they were taken in black and white.

Wow, fabulous photos Moonie! You live in a beautiful place, the house looks gorgeous blanketed in the white stuff. And the street plowed quickly, who'd you bribe?

katiesue 02-03-2010 09:56 AM

Beautiful. I miss snow.

I've been wondering about that. Historically our street was somewhere in the middle, not first not last. This year we seem to be tops on the list. So my guesses are:

1. We have some cars with diplomatic tags in the neighborhood, perhaps one of them is a mucky-muck.

2. The CIA has setup a safe house

3. The plow drivers girlfriend lives in our neighborhood.

I vote for option #2 ;)

Pretty! Thanks for the pics.

I'd say I miss snow, but what I really miss is the pretty.

MouseWife 02-03-2010 11:43 AM

I miss the pretty, but, not the work and the cold wet painful hands.

Where do you live? When will you be home? I say Camp Swank will be now at your house!!

I'll bring the cocoa!!

Kevy Baby 02-03-2010 11:47 AM

Very purdy.

But I still maintain that snow is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Especially if the Nationals were my local team.

Cadaverous Pallor 02-03-2010 01:43 PM

Beautiful photos. I daresay that would look lovely through a double-paned, cold-resistant window.

Strangler Lewis 02-03-2010 01:46 PM

As East Coast winter scenes go, it's not exactly Queens.

But it'll do.

... Sipping hot cocoa in a room with a blazing fireplace...

BarTopDancer 02-03-2010 02:50 PM

So pretty. Can you send me some snow?

And I vote for option #2 too.

How many tons would you like?

And what's your FedEx billing number?

€uroMeinke 02-03-2010 08:16 PM

Wow- so that's what Winter's supposed to look like

Not Afraid 02-03-2010 08:48 PM

I looked at the pictures and a few things happened:

1)I was amazed at their beauty
2) I thought you had taken black and white photos until I saw the blue trashcans.
3) I suddenly realized how cold I was and started shivering.

Oh! No, I didn't see him the first time so I had to go back and look. Now I'm shivering again.

These pictures remind me of one of the most beautiful phrases heard from time to time in my childhood.

"It's a snow day!"

<whistful sigh>
