ANNOUNCEMENT: LoT has a swanky new charity partner

5+ years ago, we came together as a community. I think it's safe to say that those 5 years has made all of our lives better for those of us who have enjoyed posting here. We at the LoT thought it was time to think beyond ourselves some, to use the power that this small bunch of swanky people have to make more than our own lives better.

And so we are pleased to announce our first ever charity partnership. We have been searching hard for a cause that we can support, that fits with our swank philosophy, and that we think you, as the most awesome community on the 'net, can get behind. So PLEASE, do what you can to help.

Porker International

innerSpaceman 04-01-2010 11:07 AM

Will this partnership enable us to orgasm for 20 minutes, like pigs do? Otherwise, I want no part of it.

(Well, except the bacon)

Moonliner 04-01-2010 11:23 AM

I read that as "Poker International" and had visions of a charity poker tournament.

Yeah, I've heard he's tasty

JWBear 04-01-2010 11:50 AM

So... How long did it take you to put that page together?

Snowflake 04-01-2010 11:54 AM

Brilliant.

Ghoulish Delight 04-01-2010 11:56 AM

I'll have to ask PI's webmaster. We've provided them with hosting space as a donation, once they sent me the files it only took a few minutes to bring the site live.

BarTopDancer 04-01-2010 12:17 PM

OMG piggies are so cute. I think I just became a vegetarian again :(

Kevy Baby 04-01-2010 12:28 PM

I'm glad the webmaster got the button fixed so that I could make a donation!

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 04-01-2010 12:48 PM

I don't know about you guys but I woke up with no nipples. Can someone send me some bacon replacements?

Cadaverous Pallor 04-01-2010 01:23 PM

I'm thinking of supplementing Theo's diet.

BarTopDancer 04-01-2010 01:27 PM

I can't find an image, but apparently Earth's Best and/or Gerber makes Bacon Vegetable baby food.

alphabassettgrrl 04-01-2010 03:05 PM

I was only today trying to explain to one of my clients about our bacon fixation around here. :D

Gn2Dlnd 04-02-2010 01:46 AM

Can't read my porker face.

Actually - you can.

From concept to going live, about 90 minutes. I mentioned to NA on IM that I wanted to do something, we did a little brain storming, NA came up with Porker International (other ideas floated: Swanking with Lindsay Lohan, a Swanking to a HeeHaw Revivoal Tour, Swank Space Camp, Swank trip where we rent out the entire Madonna Inn, Swank Camp 2020 Planning Thread, field trip to a pig farm to learn how to make bacon). Then NA took a nap while I put the site together between doing actual work. It was probably 20-30 minutes of actual effort on the site.

And it only took me 5 years to get the balls to do another joke.

innerSpaceman 04-02-2010 07:42 AM

Hahahaha, loved that last part. It's all a matter of degree. :D

Chernabog 04-02-2010 09:18 AM

I liked the Special Needs bacon :p

Well, to me pigs, cows, and turkeys are so darn ugly that I have no problem eating them. (ok, pigglets can be kinda cute;) ). But don't ask me to eat a Bambie.....

He better not. I want to have another child someday, and not a little porker!

I wonder how long it will be for these guys...

"Students didn't go to school, their parents were frightened and I almost evacuated the town's 13,000 residents," Mleihan told The Associated Press. "People were scared that aliens would attack them."

Al Ghad's managing editor, Moussa Barhoumeh, tried to defuse the situation, saying the report has been "blown out of proportion."

"We meant to entertain, not scare people," he said.
Wow, this reminds me of the radio broadcast of "War of the Worlds". I don't think that would even be possible here today, just goes to show how far behind these third world countries are...

Go look up the reaction to Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force light bright campaign in Boston and remind me again of how far "ahead" of them we are.

Wait until Theo hits his teens...all boys turn into little porkers.
