Rolly Crump audio tour of Disneyland

This seems like a must!

Snowflake 01-11-2011 12:54 PM

That's really cool!

Not Afraid 01-11-2011 03:39 PM

Oh, we so need to do this!

innerSpaceman 01-11-2011 04:39 PM

Yep. We should pick a date. OMG, haven't done a LoT Disneyland in forever!

Not Afraid 01-11-2011 08:13 PM

Sunday?

katiesue 01-11-2011 10:37 PM

Sunday can do :)

BarTopDancer 01-11-2011 10:51 PM

I can go Sunday if we can end around 330 (or be mostly done... aka not just starting). I haz a hockey game.

Can't do Saturday, but CAN do Sunday.

Not Afraid 01-12-2011 09:07 AM

I can do Sunday from about 11 until 4.

11am LoT time or 11am rest of the planet time? ;)

katiesue 01-12-2011 10:15 AM

Madz and I can do Sunday. 11 works for us.

Stan4dSteph 01-12-2011 01:15 PM

This sounds very cool. I hope you all report back after trying it out.

SzczerbiakManiac 01-12-2011 01:36 PM

I would love to do a LoT audio tour meet. Sunday works for me.

BarTopDancer 01-12-2011 03:29 PM

So what do we need to bring?

Not Afraid 01-12-2011 04:57 PM

Well, I suppose we need to acquire the tour, first. How we share it......I'll leave that up to someone who likes to think about tech stuff.

BarTopDancer 01-12-2011 07:08 PM

Not it!

Ghoulish Delight 01-12-2011 07:15 PM

Once someone buys it, email it to me and I'll upload it and post a link (probably in the parking lot so as not to attract legal action). Then people can download it and load it onto the player of their choosing.

CoasterMatt 01-12-2011 07:23 PM

I got it.

Kevy Baby 01-12-2011 07:26 PM

You might want to get that looked at

CoasterMatt 01-12-2011 07:29 PM

I think the problem is too many people looking at it.

CoasterMatt 01-12-2011 07:59 PM

This is pretty interesting stuff.

SzczerbiakManiac 01-13-2011 11:42 AM

Or, and I know this is just plain iNsAnItY, each person who wants a copy could actually buy the five buck download and support the creator and encourage him/her to do more.

I was assuming people would do this. It's only $5.

innerSpaceman 01-13-2011 12:17 PM

Where's the fun in that?

Ghoulish Delight 01-13-2011 12:24 PM

Well, yeah, there's THAT option.

If you haven't purchased it, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do...

CoasterMatt 01-13-2011 12:26 PM

It really is a wonderful recording.

$5.40 after tax.

Moonliner 01-13-2011 12:50 PM

How about Wednesday August 17th? That's a good date and gives everyone time to get it on their calendars.

innerSpaceman 01-13-2011 01:29 PM

I'm sure I must just be missing something, but I don't see anywhere to buy the program - just a link to sampling the short promo.

Here, here

As in; I agree with the concept of each person paying for it and supporting the author

Ghoulish Delight 01-13-2011 01:37 PM

The purchase link is at the bottom of this page.

Here is a direct link to the purchase page.

innerSpaceman 01-13-2011 02:05 PM

Thanks, I'll take care of that when I get home - - and if Sunday is on, we will have a BLAST!

katiesue 01-14-2011 08:48 PM

Ipod locked and loaded. Madz is very excited as well.

BarTopDancer 01-15-2011 10:59 AM

Purchased! How long does it take for the file to be delivered?

CoasterMatt 01-15-2011 11:19 AM

I got the email with the link in a couple hours.

Also, make sure you send an email letting them know where you heard about the tour- they'll send you a link to a couple more cool pics of Rolly in the park.

BarTopDancer 01-15-2011 11:34 AM

Thanks Matt! I'll check back this afternoon.

BarTopDancer 01-15-2011 08:07 PM

It showed up this afternoon. Yay!

Where are we meeting?

€uroMeinke 01-15-2011 08:15 PM

Hub?

katiesue 01-15-2011 08:51 PM

We will be there!

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 01-15-2011 09:21 PM

We'll be in the park at some point. Can't afford the audio though. :)

BarTopDancer 01-15-2011 10:34 PM

11am hub?

lashbear 01-16-2011 12:36 AM

I didn't see ANY of you there. Are you all avoiding me ? :p

innerSpaceman 01-16-2011 01:31 AM

I will SOOO not have the audio by tomorrow. Can I bum off someone? Sorta eavesdrop or can there be live interpretation from folks with the audio tour to us peons without?

I'm so sorry, but my life took an unexpected detour that's involved LOTS of drugs (including, OMG LSD!!!) and ... how shall I put this delicately - - - hours upon hours of hot gay sex.

So i'm just now trying to catch up on the last 48 hours back on earth, and if the tour will take a few hours to be emailed after purchase, there's no way I will have that processed all the way to my phone by some Hub meet-up thing in a few hours that I can't even promise I'll be alive for at all.

:( I really don't want to miss this. But I don't know when I'll ever get to sleep, and for sure I won't have the audio together by showtime.

NirvanaMan 01-16-2011 02:40 AM

For those who have purchased can u dowloadndirect to ur iPhone without having to synch through a cable?

Gn2Dlnd 01-16-2011 09:08 AM

Looks like I'll end my farmer's mkt a little earlier than usual, I'll join you guys mid-tour. Or after-tour, depending on how fast Rolly talks.

€uroMeinke 01-16-2011 09:22 AM

Still haven't got the email - I hope someone who has it has speakerphone

innerSpaceman 01-16-2011 10:22 AM

I finally got around to ordering it around sun-up this morning, but don't have the email yet. 2nd vote for speakerphone!

Um, are we really meeting at 11? Please tell me that means "noon." ;)

Kevy Baby 01-16-2011 10:22 AM

I purchased at 10:42 yesterday and have yet to receive an email. However, familial obligations will keep us from attending at 11L00. I will see how we are feeling and if anyone is still at the park after said obligation.

BarTopDancer 01-16-2011 10:28 AM

It took a couple hours for the email to show up. I think they sent it one by one.

I'll be there closer to 1130/12.

SzczerbiakManiac 01-16-2011 10:33 AM

It looks like the folks at Kenbow Comminications [sic] don't work weekends because I ordered mine yesterday afternoon and still don't have the file either.

I'll still head out there, it'll just be a quiet tour. :(

Anyone up for a trip trip Slater's 50/50 after?

NirvanaMan 01-16-2011 10:33 AM

We too will be running on LoT time so a noon 11 meet sounds more realistic.

innerSpaceman 01-16-2011 10:48 AM

Noon Eleven it is. I guess I won't hold my breath waiting for the email now. So hopefully, it will be speakerphone - or - even better, some people(s) interpretation of Rolly Crump's observations.

Not Afraid 01-16-2011 10:53 AM

We never got our email either so we borrowed a copy in the meantime.

Kevy Baby 01-16-2011 10:59 AM

I just got my copy via email (A You Send It Link)

SzczerbiakManiac 01-16-2011 11:00 AM

I just got mine too! :)

€uroMeinke 01-16-2011 11:05 AM

Me three

innerSpaceman 01-16-2011 11:15 AM

Me, four. Now if only iTunes will cooperate in getting this to my phone.

A very big IF.

CoasterMatt 01-16-2011 11:50 AM

Who uses iTunes anymore?

innerSpaceman 01-16-2011 11:56 AM

Listen, bud. I'm a tech retard. So, as far as I know, my stupid iPhone can only download music via iTunes. And I freaking HATE iTunes. 8th time was the charm this morning, and my phone finally synched. So I'm good to go for today.

But if you could suggest how to get music, photos and stuff to my iPhone without using iTunes, PLEASE CLUE ME.

NirvanaMan 01-16-2011 11:58 AM

Cant find a way to download so will have to stream it

Kevy Baby 01-16-2011 12:13 PM

iTunes works great for me. I downloaded it, iTunes automatically loaded it when the download was complete and and I just had to load it on my phone:
  1. Make the track a playlist (with track selected in iTunes, select File > New Playlist From Selection) - rename the playlist something like "Walk In The Park"
  2. With your iPhone plugged in to your computer, select it under devices
  3. Click on the "Music" tab
  4. Click the "Selected playlists, artists [etc.]
  5. Find the playlist you just created under "Playlists" and click the checkbox
  6. Click the "Apply" button

Yes, there are other ways to do it, but this is what I did.

CoasterMatt 01-16-2011 01:27 PM

I use SharePod for my ipod stuff- free, and just works.

At the risk of starting a format/platform war, I have been quite happy with iTunes. It natively works with with the iPhone and is free.

CoasterMatt 01-16-2011 04:25 PM

iTunes for Mac isn't bad at all, but iTunes for Windows seems to be coded by morons.

Ghoulish Delight 01-16-2011 06:59 PM

That was fun!

BarTopDancer 01-16-2011 09:41 PM

So much fun even though I had to leave half way through the 5 hour 60 minute tour.

We should visit the park as a group more often!

Not Afraid 01-16-2011 10:00 PM

Disneyland! We all went to Disneyland!!!! Yeah, baby!

BarTopDancer 01-16-2011 10:32 PM

Public link to my LoT album

katiesue 01-17-2011 12:57 AM

Super super fun day. The tour was great and topped off by a 50/50 burger with vampire cheese!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 01-17-2011 01:12 AM

Day of Rad!

katiesue 01-17-2011 01:38 AM

Group Hub Shot

CP and Theo on Small World

CoasterMatt 01-17-2011 01:52 AM

Looks like tons of fun. :)

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 01-17-2011 02:47 AM

Great to see everyone for about 5 minutes there.

lashbear 01-17-2011 03:56 AM

Keep the tour - I'll be there soon... (in about 4 years and 8 months...)

Stan4dSteph 01-17-2011 07:18 AM

What areas of the park does the tour cover?

Ghoulish Delight 01-17-2011 07:29 AM

Stuff that Rolly had a hand in.

Which is a short list these days. Main Street, a tree in Tomorrowloand, Small World, Shooting Gallery, NOS, Mansion, Tiki Room.

Aside for a couple good stories, there's not much that was news to anyone who's spent the time in Disneyland the the LoT of us has. But it was still great to hear it from Rolly himself, and more importantly, it was a great excuse for a Sunday hub meet! Time, freaking, warp!

Cadaverous Pallor 01-17-2011 09:44 AM

Wow. It's been a long time.

Full size to be had here.

NirvanaMan 01-17-2011 10:53 AM

It was surreal seeing everyone at the hub. What an awesome day.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-17-2011 11:33 AM

I believe this is the last group shot we participated in at DL....when the subs opened, three and a half years ago.

I loved that day!

innerSpaceman 01-17-2011 04:31 PM

Aren't there group shots from one of the birthdays since then, at least?? I don't think the Sub Meet could be the most recent group shot with CP and GD.

But that WAS one of the most epic Disneyland Meet-Ups ever. Fond memories of that day and many others certainly infused the surreal feeling many of us shared yesterday as we approached a group of Lot folk at the Hub at a Sunday Noontime. Hahahahha, Time Warp Weirdness Flashbackery! :D

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 01-17-2011 04:51 PM

How about this one?

Ghoulish Delight 01-17-2011 04:55 PM

We weren't there for that one.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 01-17-2011 05:04 PM

Think this is pre-sub but I still like it.

We didn't bother with group shots much in recent years unless we had a special guest, like Moonliner or Scrooge, above.

When the Lashpair was last here I think we all saw them at different times....or perhaps someone else has a group shot from that?

1) Leigh-Ann (formerly of "Keith and Leigh Ann")
2) Theo (Keith's friend)
3) no idea, maybe Mousey's kid?

Ghoulish Delight 01-17-2011 09:01 PM

#3 is Headliner.
