Yeah, I'm just waiting for the location and the $$ - but I'm definitely interested!

Kevy Baby 02-08-2011 11:30 PM

Any word yet? I think Susan and I will be going.

I hadn't previously been signed up for their newsletter, but did so tonight.

€uroMeinke 02-08-2011 11:33 PM

still waiting

Cynthia 02-08-2011 11:56 PM

Looks beyond yummy! And-I noticed they are looking for some costuming help!

Kevy Baby 02-09-2011 11:49 PM

Two tix purchased

Cynthia 02-10-2011 12:00 AM

Two more

Not Afraid 02-10-2011 12:02 AM

Us two too.

€uroMeinke 02-10-2011 12:24 AM

Yay!

Now what to wear...

keith - SuPeR K! 02-10-2011 04:22 AM

What is this? *ducks*

innerSpaceman 02-10-2011 08:00 AM

Two tix purchased, too -- but I don't even know if the new bf is available - so I may have an extra? I won't know till after this coming weekend though.

oooooh, what to wear???

So this is not going to feature an actual (typical) performance, eh? - but be more of an interactive, hangout, party type thing? I'm intrigued by the forebears cited in the invite:
"Moulin Rouge 1889, Woodstock 1969, Studio 54 1977, Lucent Dossier Experience 2011"

Whatever it turns out to be, I'm sure it will be Rad. :D

Kevy Baby 02-10-2011 10:11 PM

Its almost sold out already - expected to be sold out by midnight

Not Afraid 02-25-2011 07:54 PM

We didn't have fun or anything.

That is the most awesome thing I've ever seen!!!

Kevy Baby 02-26-2011 10:31 AM

I like Chris's mischieviousity

innerSpaceman 02-26-2011 03:20 PM

Seriously Best.Picture.Evar.

Cadaverous Pallor 02-28-2011 10:13 AM

I saved it on my computer, even though I wasn't there and I'm so effing jealous!!!!! That pic is not to be denied.

innerSpaceman 02-28-2011 12:58 PM

I so much more preferred the show at the El Rey, where they gave an actual (and excellent) performance, but still had basically the same side attractions and dancing. This was pretty meh by comparison. I thought the best parts were the crazy van ride there at the start, and the fun picture taking (Exhibit "A" above) at the end.

Everything in the middle paled in comparison to the El Rey show. I don't want to attend any more of their "parties." But it was not a bad time by any means, and in any event was all worth it for that fantastic photo!

Cynthia 02-28-2011 01:31 PM

I enjoyed it, but by far the best part was the company, and Lisa's cleavage!

Glad you brought that up. For those who did not hear, we had 20 people jammed into this van, not counting the driver. We believe the van was brought into service at the last minute when they realized they were running behind. Since there were no seats besides the driver's seat and the front passenger seat (at least that I saw), this was probably a van used for hauling equipment and not people.

20 people!!!

€uroMeinke 02-28-2011 06:39 PM

Every circus requires a clown car

innerSpaceman 02-28-2011 08:13 PM

Yeah, sorry for anyone who was really uncomfortable, but the clown van was rollicking, rolling, hysterical FUN.

The party? A little bit less so. (In the opinion of this reviewer)

The LoT gals all looked so great, btw - - and need to dress like that more often.

Nope, not in the duds seen in the picture. Heheh, we almost didn't want to wear the Lucent costuming, because our own outfits (especially the ladies') were already so completely RAD.

Cadaverous Pallor 02-28-2011 09:03 PM

So, where's the other pics? Don't tell me you didn't get any of everyone looking hotness.

Not Afraid 03-01-2011 01:17 AM

No. We got no pictures of us looking hot. But, I think my neighbors want to have sex with me now.

Oh, and I think there were 25 in the van. Just a few less than the number of time "Nemo" is said on the Subs.

€uroMeinke 03-01-2011 01:26 AM

Actually, I did get one picture:

Not Afraid 03-01-2011 10:29 AM

I had so much fun at the party. I can't wait to go to another one! There's something about a Lucent event that fills me with inspiration and love. I love being around that immense amount of creativity! It's always exciting no matter what happens.

Kevy Baby 03-01-2011 12:46 PM

I took pictures, I just need to find my card reader.

innerSpaceman 03-07-2011 06:31 PM

I had fun, but have no desire to go to their next "private party," on St. Patrick's Day no less.

Please let me know if they ever do another actual show at a reasonable venue.

Not Afraid 03-08-2011 03:31 PM

We can't go to the next one because we're going to Phillip Glass' Akhnaten that evening.

Kevy Baby 03-09-2011 04:50 PM

The second party sold out in 3-1/2 hours.

Not that I wanted to go a second time. Other than the company and the resulting awesome photo, it was kind of a meh night.

innerSpaceman 03-10-2011 10:41 AM

I didn't get to do the sound booth thingy, which I heard was awesome, and the only "side" thing not available at their El Rey show.

I will go to another show in a heartbeat that doesn't require separate music festival admission or a passport for foreign travel. I hope they do something like that locally again soon. The El Rey show was teh awesome.

Not Afraid 03-11-2011 05:34 PM

Did you visit The Oracle? She's awesome.

innerSpaceman 03-11-2011 05:54 PM

No, I slept.

But the Oracle was at the El Rey, n'est pas? Or was that just dream interpretation?

Not Afraid 03-11-2011 07:53 PM

No, there was no Oracle at the El Rey. She was performing with the troupe that night.

€uroMeinke 03-11-2011 09:00 PM

I guess I've drank the Lucent Kool Aid - or is that Absinthe? - I had a great time at the party, I loved the candy girl, tall Paul (AKA Beep Beep) and regret leaving before visiting the oracle and seeing the pyro. I hope to go again soon - but they strike a chord, maybe let me play out my cabaret circus fantasies, so I accept the fact I may be biased in their favor.

Cynthia 03-11-2011 09:25 PM

It was a great environment, but as I have done a few shows in that vein I would like to be a bit more comfortable in the setting, might just have been the corset, I would LOVE to see them at the Edison, would love to go to the Edison period . . . perhaps a circus party is in order this summer.

innerSpaceman 03-11-2011 09:42 PM

Still miffed the Edison axed them moments before we were all set to go there for Lisa's bday one year. Bah and double bah.
