2011 NCAA LoT Bracket Challenge
 

It was fun last time, so let's try it again.

I took the liberty of setting up an online NCAA bracket program so that we can have a Lot bracket pool.

There is no cost involved, and the only prize is bragging rights.

Get your brackets in before Thursday if you want to play.

So far it's me and Obama VS GD.

I'll probably still lose....

I had absolutely no method other than picking mostly "chalk" or whatever the hell that term is.

I did break with my usual tradition and only had UCLA making it to the final, not actually winning.

I must admit I started to enter, but the interface was too clunky and I got bored of entering picks about halfway through.

It's the best free one I could find, but yeah... It lacks polish.

Aww, you can at least give him some pretend enthusiasm. Poor Moonie needs a friend. Where the hell is Leo, anyway?

Maybe Lisa can give him a call and make a playdate for Moonie.

Moonie's a Nationals fan, he thrives on isolation and loneliness.

Obama is out to and early lead, I'm tied with with the chalk while GD is behind but still comfortably ahead of Alex who did not finish his picks.

Yes, I went 0fer on my upset picks yesterday. That's generally problematic.

Me mum picked Morehead to upset Louisville. Which sounds pretty good until you see the rest of her picks which placed her dead last in the extended family facebook pool.

In the one bracket I did, for work, it was not an auspicious start. Two of my Elite 8 teams are already gone. Didn't get any of the upsets.

Though I might be more upset if my picks weren't essentially random.

Didn't I win this last year?

I had to make this post just so I would tie with Scaeagles- I really don't care about the subject.

The Butler/Pitt game last night was the most insane ending I have ever seen in 30 years of college basketball worship.

I have never seen Duke get so slaughtered. I was completely flabbergasted.

In my one bracket I only have four out of the final eight still alive (and three of those haven't played yet) and yet my final four is still 75% whole and my Finals remains possible.

I have only 2 teams left alive.

I don't like my odds.

I did not make a single incorrect pick!

Basketball is a stupid sport.

By my count if I win out I could come in 5th in my pool of 500. Currently I'm 197th. But while I only picked three of the last 8, all of them are in my final 4 and the finals is alive. A lot of people ahead of me also picked Kansas to win, but not many have them playing UNC like I do (UConn being the more common Kansas pairing that is still alive.

That would be pretty sweet for having essentially picked without knowing who 90% of the teams were and not having watched a college basketball game in about 19 years.

And today my one bracket said "It is enough that I had the potential for glory, it would be greedy to try for more" and died a quick death. Can't earn a single additional point over what I've got.

The Lot brackets are over as well.

First place goes to Mr. Obama proving he is in fact the best choice to lead this nation.

The chalk came in second, followed by myself and GD.

On the plus side, in the office pool with mucho deniro at stake it's down to me and my Mother. Would it be wrong to trash talk her?

Caught a little of the Kansas upset. I guess you know you had an easy run through your bracket when you are upset by a team led by John Leguizamo.

Basketball is a great game!

My bluray box sets of Star Wars I-VI and LOTR extended are on order.

It sounds like the tournament might need a "Judge's Save" like on American Idol. Either that, or they should go to some more reliable way of picking the best team in the country, like a poll of coaches or newspapermen.

I'm excited UCONN won because my little (taller than me 17 y/o cousin) just committed to go there and to play soccer for them and she's super excited that they won.

Her 2nd choice was Butler. Looks like she made the correct decision.

I give; how are those two things associated?
