Ummm....Swankers?

Has it occurred to anyone else that that nickname is awfully close to "wankers?" Might I propose "swankster" instead? I think it's a bit more swank being a swankster than a swanker. But then, what do I know about swank?

Not Afraid 01-11-2005 10:48 PM

Yes, it is quite close to wanker, isn't it! :D

Morrigoon 01-11-2005 11:48 PM

yeah, funny how no one noticed that before now....

;)

€uroMeinke 01-11-2005 11:51 PM

I tend to use both swanker and swankster,

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 01-11-2005 11:52 PM

Well, I can be kind of a wanker.

So it's appropriate when applied to me, I guess.

Swankster does sound better, though.

tracilicious 01-12-2005 12:17 AM

It was funny. I saw the thread titled "Swanker meet" and I swear I read "Wanker meat." I'm saying swankster. ;)

I saw it! I saw it!!

innerSpaceman 01-12-2005 12:44 AM

Swanker - noun, one who swanks.

Swankster - noun, one who is swank.

A subtle distinction.

Use whichever you like. Your mileage may vary.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-12-2005 08:36 AM

I think it's funny and I'm sticking with swanker. :D

MerryPrankster 01-12-2005 08:45 AM

I like swanker too! I try not to thinkabout the wanker and the canker... .

Hmmm, although now I can be a swankster prankster. I'm going to have to think about this.

SusieP. 01-12-2005 10:14 AM

Swanker is funnier, I'm sticking with that for now.

tracilicious 01-12-2005 11:04 AM

You guys are a bunch of wankers...Oops! I mean swankers. ;)

Nephythys 01-12-2005 12:05 PM

I just need to get swank-i-fied...:(

wendybeth 01-12-2005 12:10 PM

Nephthys, sending a boost of mojo along to help with the swanking process. Check out the links to the lingo books, and hang tight- we'll be back to whatever level of normal we usually function on soon...lol.

Claire 01-12-2005 12:16 PM

And thanks to UvaGirl, the word "swank" had been replaced by "skank" by my eyes.

So, ya'll are skanky skankers and skanky skanksters to me. No offense. :D

Not Afraid 01-12-2005 12:24 PM

No, skanky is reserved for jonvn.

Grumpy4 01-12-2005 12:29 PM

And, YOU, my kitten, couldn't be more correct!

Disneyphile 01-12-2005 05:28 PM

Being bored and finally figuring out how avatars work can be dangerous... Since I am still able to get into my "Other" message board account I felt the following avatar change was appropriate there:

wendybeth 01-13-2005 09:57 PM

Lol- Mousey Girl! I love both of them!

Mousey Girl 01-14-2005 08:51 AM

Well...I have officially YAGEd at the other board. I feel good about the way I did it, not that it will do any good.

On a catty note, I have been posting here for more than a day, can I get be a mod now??? :p

~MS~ 01-14-2005 09:25 AM

MG....you know I adore ya and your YAGE just rocked! My particular favorite......I wish those remaining here no ill will and hope they florish in the ghost town of their own creation After reading that entire thread it's obvious that no one left over there 'gets it'

tracilicious 01-14-2005 09:27 PM

Lol, Mousey Girl that was a good YAGE. The thing that cracked me up was that I logged in to PM a few people and discovered that I've been banned. For one comment. So much for her suspension policy. Oh well. I'm very pleased at the lack of Crap throwing over here. We're here having fun and if others want to dwell on things, then the only people suffering are themselves.

And! I'm glad to see you posting here MS. I always loved reading your posts at MP.

I agree! And MS - I thoroughly enjoy your avatars. They always make me smile. My favorite was the one with Oscar. So cute and peaceful. :)

Mousey Girl 01-15-2005 01:10 AM

I love seeing pictures of Brandy. They always make me smile. She is such a miracle, and a sweet and loving person. You haven't experienced joy until you are grabbed by her and told that you WILL ride HMH with her. She (and her wonderful mom) are real true life inspirations.

Oh wow!! Now that sounds awesome. :D

Mousey Girl 01-15-2005 01:56 AM

It was great!! We laughed and giggled through the entire ride.

It is an experience I will never ever forget.
