Check Your DL Photos from 1977!

Time to dig out those old photo albums. This was announced at D23:

Alas, that's one year I am certain we didn't go. But, I wonder if some clever soul will attempt a PhotoShop solution.

Ghoulish Delight 08-22-2011 09:19 AM

I'm pretty sure I wasn't there.

cirquelover 08-22-2011 09:49 AM

I had just moved to Oregon so no Disneyland for me that year.

innerSpaceman 08-22-2011 09:54 AM

Fine. I moved to L.A. in 1978.

(My first visit to the Park was in 1970, and I was back in '75 - but otherwise did not become a regularly-visiting guest until '78. Oh well.)

Strangler Lewis 08-22-2011 10:37 AM

I can say with certainty that I was at Disneyland in the summer of 1977 at the very least. John Lasseter is welcome to go to my mother's apartment to look through old slides. She may ask him to run to Stater Bros. to pick up some bottled water.

I was there, the year of Space Mountain. It was also the time of E tickets, and what with Pirates and Mansion and SPACE MOUNTAIN - doubt my sic-fi obsessed 15-year old self would have wasted such a ticket on the Jungle Cruise. Besides, too young to carry a camera, to old to hang with my mom, I'm certain there are no photos of my 1977 visits.

BarTopDancer 08-22-2011 12:12 PM

I doubt I was there. But FB is blocked at work so I can't say for sure.

Morrigoon 08-22-2011 12:19 PM

For some reason, I have no photos of early trips to DL

katiesue 08-22-2011 12:41 PM

I'll have to look. I don't think I have any jungle cruise ones from any trip.

alphabassettgrrl 08-22-2011 03:38 PM

My brother scanned pictures from 1973... I may post some of those.... though they're of Disney World, not Disneyland.

alphabassettgrrl 08-22-2011 03:38 PM

Ah.

I should read the link before posting.

Cadaverous Pallor 08-22-2011 04:30 PM

Genius! My family and I were in Israel at the time so no go here.

CoasterMatt 08-22-2011 05:12 PM

I was at Disneyland EVERY weekend in the summer of 77 (but not yet tall enough for Space Mountain :( ) - I'm pretty sure my parents have pics of DL- and my aunt has super 8 movies from many of those visits.

Now wouldn't it be something if she just happened to film a full tour of the jungle cruise. And wouldn't be even more amazing if John L. was the skipper. I wonder what he would pay for that footage.

Not Afraid 08-22-2011 07:26 PM

I know I was at WDW for the first time in '77 but I don't remember if I went to DL for my Birthday in '77. Regardless, I rarely took pictures and certainly not of attractions or (gasp) skippers. I don't think I've ever taken a picture of a skipper.

RStar 08-22-2011 11:09 PM

I know I was there in 1976, and 1978. Not sure about 1977. No matter, my parents didn't take many pictures at Disneyland. I only have two- from the 1976 trip, and we went every year.

blueerica 08-23-2011 08:30 AM

Alas, I wasn't even a twinkle in anyone's eye until the start of 1978.

Disneyphile 08-23-2011 11:39 AM

I have a ton of photos from family trips that year. I need to finish going through them tonight. My fave is me with Wally Boag.

katiesue 08-23-2011 12:40 PM

We went summer of 77 so to early for the timeline :(

Kevy Baby 08-23-2011 05:17 PM

How about the Summer of '69?
That's when I got my first real six-string

Stan4dSteph 08-23-2011 05:44 PM

It's possible, but I don't know for sure. My parents are currently in NZ, so I won't have access to those photos for a few weeks.

Yep. And I played it until my fingers bled.
