Happy 7th Lotiversary

Time has flown.

While things have changed here quite a bit, I'm glad the site is still here. It's still "The Board", my home on the internet, a safe haven in case all the other social networking strongholds crumble.

Happy 7th, all.

Also, the crowned prince of the LoT turns 2 today. Happy Birthday, my love.

Morrigoon 01-09-2012 03:08 PM

katiesue 01-09-2012 03:21 PM

Wow, 7 years of the LoT. Um, um ... isn't that the year of the itch?

Kevy Baby 01-09-2012 05:02 PM

True story.

In early December, a high school friend who lives in the Bay Area mentioned on Google+ that she had a high end consumer photo printer she was selling for $100 (Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II, retail in the $300-$400 range). As mentioned in a previous thread, the famed printer purchased 2 years ago sucks at printing photos. Sucks.

Sold and sold.

It was a bit of a hassle getting it from her. She was only in town for a couple days, right in the middle of the holiday family gauntlet. Thankfully I found a couple hours to make a mad dash across the valley and back.

I was a little surprised to find out it's HUGE, it makes up to 19" prints. But we managed to find a place for it...but alas, one of the ink tanks was defective. So I contacted Canon support. They were awesome and immediately sent out a replacement ink tank. But I had made a typo when I sent them our address and it got returned to them. So they sent another one.

All of which meant....that today we have a new functioning printer that prints photos BEAUTIFULLY!! Happy printer day everyone!

We've all been seeing other boards on the sly

lashbear 01-09-2012 11:29 PM

Chris: You Hedonists are all the same....

7th Anniversary? Time DOES fly. I suppose all those other boards are still limping along without us ? ;)

RStar 01-10-2012 01:12 AM

Happy 2,556 days! Though I was a little slow getting here. I think it was CP that sent me the PM on MP. Something like "Psst! Hey, we're all over here!"

Betty 01-10-2012 08:43 AM

7 years. My goodness.

Gn2Dlnd 01-10-2012 01:10 PM

Happy LoLiversary! :D

If this is an abstract version of how Theo came into your life I'm very confused.

Snowflake 01-10-2012 02:37 PM

Wow, 2 years old! Time flies and how he's grown! A DL veteran now, too!

There may be other social media sites, but there is only one place I feel truly at home and that's here on LoT.

Happy Swankaversary!

I was the front for a subversive movement

Not Afraid 01-10-2012 04:12 PM

So, 7 years ago we got bold, quit the old and started something new. This year, same time frame, I quit my IC position and officially started working full-time on my own businesses. Add T-Bone in there and I think we've got ourselves a great time of year!

innerSpaceman 01-10-2012 04:14 PM

Although to be fair, you really have to credit the April/May timeframe for that last one.

Jen linked to a thread on MP when were were chatting the other day. I happily clicked and found I needed to log on to see what she was linking to.

But, I can't do that cause I'm BANNED.

It made us both laugh.

I never had anything personal against anybody involved. It was just the sequence of events that unfurled.

I know; it takes a town. LoT is the sum of all of these people that gather here. Sure, there are the people (the brains if you will) that make it run and with out them the digital presence of this web site would not exist. I think those people should receive a warm round of applause (or should I say snaps!).

:snap: :snap: :snap: :snap: :snap: :snap:

Had I not received the invite from you, I would have never LoT I'm sure.

Happy Anniversary to LoT!

Yeah, this project was definately about preserving a particular community and I love all of you even if some of you can be really annoying at times.

As I've said before, I gave us about 6 months, so 7 years is pretty good especially when there's Facebook and other such sites that could easily take our place (unless you're parmasean Jim).

Thanks everyone for hanging out,

Cheers,

Not having been on MP, I missed all that drama and simply was invited from the MC boards. I've not been back there since except to read Al Lutz's pieces.

FB, Google+, Twitter and now Path and still the LoT Commune endures. I'm glad of it.
