DCA Sneak Peek for AP'ers

You guys get all the perks...

Enter for the Chance to Preview the Newly Re-imagined Disney California Adventure Park on June 11, 2012

Quote:

Grab this chance — only for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders — to be among the first to experience how the Happiest Place on Earth just got happier! As part of the preview, experience exciting attractions, dining and merchandise locations.

Step foot on Buena Vista Street — the main street of Disney California Adventure Park — to see the transformation. Imagine you have been transported to an idealized 1920's version of Los Angeles. Stroll past Art Deco storefronts, a sparkling fountain and see sights designed to invoke the energetic city Walt Disney discovered when he traveled to California in 1923.

And then enter a land like no other: Cars Land! Here, Radiator Springs has been brought to life and you'll feel like you've walked into the Disney•Pixar Cars movie. Cars Land comes fully loaded with exciting attractions, entertainment and plenty of Disney Character meet-and-greet opportunities. Get ready to be floored!

The expanded and re-imagined Disney California Adventure Park will open to the general public on June 15, 2012.
Note: Guests are encouraged to select multiple time periods to increase their chances of winning, but they are only eligible to win a single time period.

I already entered. There's another contest for CA & AZ residents only here. That one you can enter daily.

Kevy Baby 05-01-2012 12:32 PM

I put in that there would be six passholes in my group (thinking I wouldn't have any problems finding people to fill the spaces), but in retrospect, I think it might have helped my chances if I only put two.

I've been entering that one every couple of days... :D

I did the same then had the same thought after I'd pushed the send button. Oh well.

alphabassettgrrl 05-01-2012 03:12 PM

We'll see. I entered for two, and will likely have an opening for someone to join me. Thought about entering for the max of 6, but figured I'd test whether smaller parties stand a better chance.

Kevy Baby 05-01-2012 03:18 PM

I'll have Susan put in for two only.

innerSpaceman 05-01-2012 04:16 PM

I put in for two - - and would actually be looking for a buddy for the night of June 11 if I win.

Cadaverous Pallor 05-01-2012 08:00 PM

I put in for 6. Things like this are more fun with more friends. :)

BarTopDancer 05-01-2012 08:50 PM

I put in for 4. It would be fun if enough of us won that most of us could go.

I still put in for the 15th off since my AP expires that weekend.

lashbear 05-02-2012 12:15 AM

I can't put in....

...so I'll have to put out, instead.

€uroMeinke 05-02-2012 08:14 AM

I put in for 6 don't understand why that would be bad/reduce my odds

My paranoid thinking is that Disney can select more winners if they select more entries with lower head counts. Yeah, may not be totally legal to do so, but things sometimes "happen"

innerSpaceman 05-02-2012 02:34 PM

This will not apply to Cars Land, I'm sure - but I can't help but be reminded of the preview for Star Tours II.

A bunch of us met up there, but only a few had the needed "winner" documents. Those, in turn, allowed us to get fast passes. But we noticed the CM at the entry was simply tossing all the fast passes into a bucket behind him. Fastpass Master Isaac simply grabbed about 50 of them from the bucket - and everyone was able to ride Star Tours multiple times, whether they had the "winner" documents or not! :D

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 05-02-2012 07:21 PM

I put in for 6!

Thank you for entering for a chance to preview Disney California Adventure® Park. Unfortunately, you were not selected to participate in the June 11, 2012 preview.
:(

Ghoulish Delight 06-01-2012 02:09 PM

Same.

innerSpaceman 06-01-2012 02:12 PM

Oh, are the rejection emails going out today? Better check my rarely-used email address.

Kevy Baby 06-01-2012 02:40 PM

Ditto

€uroMeinke 06-01-2012 02:42 PM

Rejected as well, though guest services wants me to call and talk to them about my renewal fiasco.

Disneyphile 06-01-2012 02:46 PM

Weird. I got selected, but then again, I only entered for 2 people in the morning, so that might have helped.

alphabassettgrrl 06-01-2012 03:01 PM

Not selected either. ::sniffle::

Congrats!

innerSpaceman 06-01-2012 03:16 PM

Congrats, Disneyphile!

Le sigh, I was rejected.

I'm much more excited, for some reason, that €uroMeinke's being called to give Disney a further piece of his mind. That's rad.

Gemini Cricket, I hope you will get a chance to check out the new DCA stuff while you are in town!

BarTopDancer 06-01-2012 04:37 PM

I'm an instant loser.

SzczerbiakManiac 06-01-2012 05:55 PM

I got a rock :(

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 06-01-2012 06:33 PM

I didn't wanna go anyway.... f**k them...

RStar 06-01-2012 06:58 PM

Lump of coal in my stocking. I've been a bad boy, I guess....

innerSpaceman 06-02-2012 05:11 PM

Aaron and Henry from up north (remember them?) won - so they'll be coming down for it. I never seem to see them (they were last here just a couple of weeks ago for the Gumball Rally) - but I'm glad some folks who are pretty rabid Disneyland fans yet live too far to hit the Park at the drop of a hat will get a chance to preview Cars Land ... and see it before, um, anyone. Hey!

Ghoulish Delight 06-02-2012 10:15 PM

We were at the park today. They were doing a preview day for Imagineers. We got a little peek down Buena Vista Street with a moving Red Car and a view of cars moving on the Racers track from Screamin'. EXCITING!

katiesue 06-03-2012 10:37 AM

We were there yesterday too. Maddie was about to claw her way through a wall. Ghiradelli is awesomely good.

Dukie finally sold today so I did the unthinkable. Paid for one of the AP previews next weekend. Maddie's been happy dancing for the last hour.

Ghoulish Delight 06-03-2012 10:48 AM

We were going down Main Street and got to see the newly remodeled Gibson Girl for the first time. So I got a float there, not knowing that Ghirardelli was open. Had I known, I would have waited. But I got a free chocolate square and had a taste of CP's sunday. YUM.

Chocolate ride beats tortilla ride so far.

€uroMeinke 06-03-2012 11:23 AM

Oh, Ghiradelli's open - might have to sneak in before Carsland day

katiesue 06-03-2012 12:09 PM

We just had a scoop with dark chocolate fudge topping. It was so good. Maddie wanted to go back up again today just for another one.

RStar 06-03-2012 02:51 PM

I was there last night. Saw Ghirardelli (and the free piece of chocolate). Saw the Mad T Party, which was fun. The Long Island Mad T Party drink was good. I also saw Tony Baxter at the Mad t party (it was an imagineer preview day), he was with family and dropped his iPhone so I didn't want to bother him to say hello.

katiesue 06-04-2012 09:06 PM

Well I'm kind of more than a little annoyed. Apparently the AP/D23 previews were not selling well (obvious reason I have no idea real reason) so now they've opened up the dates for CM's as well. So I'm paying and a chunk aren't. Nice no?

And honest all CM's should have the chance for previews it's one of the perks of the job and I have no problem with that at all but come on.

Morrigoon 06-05-2012 06:14 PM

They're really been screwing CMs lately. I'm glad they're opening up more dates for them, but it would be nice if they weren't always treated as an afterthought by the Company. Especially in their own division, you know?

katiesue 06-10-2012 02:07 AM

Worth the $ and we missed woc. We loved it. Buena Vista is really great as well.

katiesue 06-10-2012 08:53 AM

We're behind the walls!

Maddie's most exciting thing. Sharps container in the bathroom.

Maddie in Radiator Springs

Kevy Baby 06-10-2012 02:11 PM

That last picture is such a great shot of Maddie!!!

innerSpaceman 06-11-2012 10:27 AM

Love the Madz shot! Great that DCA is making so many people so happy now!
